Another wonderful message this morning from Pastor Greg Parker.
Here are some highlights and key points to think about:
Matthew 18:15-20
1. **Address conflict directly with love and humility.**
Jesus teaches that when someone harms us, the first faithful step is not gossip, avoidance, or public embarrassment—it is a private, honest conversation. The purpose is not to win an argument, but to tell the truth in a way that gives healing a chance.
2. **Seek restoration while practicing wise accountability.**
The goal of Matthew 18 is to “regain” a sibling in Christ, not reject or shame them. Forgiveness does not mean ignoring harm or removing necessary boundaries; the church must protect vulnerable people, confront harmful behavior, and still leave room for repentance and transformation.
3. **Christ is present when the church works through hard things together.**
“Where two or three are gathered in my name” applies not only to worship but also to difficult conversations. When believers pray, listen, seek God’s will, and choose reconciliation over division, Jesus is present among them.
