This weeks memory verse is “Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:4‬.

When circumstances around you have you feeling like a positive outcome is not possible or that you don’t have the strength to make it through a difficult situation, know that the LORD is the strength you need. The situation isn’t stronger or bigger than our God. He is all powerful, all knowing, and so good. He is the strength you need to get through the situation you may be going through. Oh how sweet it is to trust in Jesus; Jehovah Shalom; The LORD is peace.

This weeks Bible Memory verse comes from Ephesians 4:32, “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

Jesus paid the ultimate price for our salvation; He gave His life to give us forgiveness and freedom from our sins. If Jesus is willing to forgive us for our sins, we as brothers and sisters in Christ need to focus on forgiveness. We cannot let bitterness, anger, and wrath overpower our hearts. If we cannot forgive one another for our mistakes, we cannot expect Christ to forgive us. Read the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant found in Matthew 18: 21-35 for more of Jesus’ thoughts on forgiveness.

This week is the official start of summer! With the summer solstice, we will experience the longest amounts of daylight for the year.

Our Bible verse for this week says, “From the rising of the sun to its going down, The Lord's name is to be praised.” Psalms 113:3. His praise should always be on our lips, and if what we say or how we act doesn’t reflect God and the wonderful things He has done for us, we need to seek repentance. Lucky for us, we serve a forgiving God who is waiting, with open arms to forgive us when we stumble.

(Ps.... Since the sun doesn't actually rise or go down, and the sun is in the same place all the time, we must constantly praise Him since the Psalm says we should praise Him from the rising to the going down of the sun!)

Our verse for the week is Matthew 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God.”

The Beatitudes are a guideline of how we, as followers of Christ need to live, and our job as Christians is to live in a way that reflects Jesus. Jesus calls us to be a light to others, and our actions and reactions need to resemble Jesus’ peace.

Jesus repeatedly showed us and told us how to act differently from the world. In this verse He tells us to be peacemakers. In times of confrontation, anger, disappointment, anxiety, and confusion, we need to find peace. In John 14:27 Jesus says, ““Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you.” His peace He gives us, because He loves us. So when we feel the opposite of peace, our hearts, our minds, our eyes, and our Bibles need to turn to Him.

God tells us that we should seek praise from our Father in heaven and not look for praise for our good works from man. This is a hard thing to do. It is in our human nature to seek approval, praise, and acknowledgment from those around us, but that’s not what God has called us to want. In Matthew 6, Jesus reminds us that we should not let our left hand know what our right hand is doing when doing good deeds. If we seek the acknowledgment from man we have our reward. This weeks memory verse reminds us that in everything we do, we should be doing it for Him. And if our works are for Him, then we want our praise coming from Him as well and not from man.

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:23‬

This week we focus on John 9:39, “And Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.”

Jesus came into this world to give sight to the people that are spiritually blind. Jesus has the power to set people free from the darkness that has encompassed their lives. Jesus is ready to free you from your darkness of sin, anxiety, depression and more. He will give you clarity and vision. The best place to find His clarity is by reading His word. If you are not sure where to start, or if you are in need of a Bible, please message the church page and we will help you!

This weeks Bible memory verse comes from Philippians 1:6, “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Are we confident in what Jesus can and will do in our lives? Do we trust that His plan is greater than ours? God will complete what He starts, He will work things out for our good, but we must put all our faith and trust in Him.

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we are reminded of the unconditional love of a Mother, the warmth of a Mother’s hug, and the comfort of being in her presence. Our Bible memory verse reminds us this week that God’s love is like that of a Mother, and as hard as it is to imagine, His love is even stronger. When we are tired, weak, frustrated, scared, or angry, our Heavenly Father is waiting to comfort us. We simply need to trust in Him and His love. “As one whom his mother comforts, So I will comfort you.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭66:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This weeks Bible memory verse is from Ephesians 2:8, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.”

Not by our works, not by our actions, not by our words are we saved. We are saved by our faith alone, by God alone. There is no other way to gain salvation.

Our works, our actions, and our words can never be pure enough to earn salvation. That salvation is a gift He so freely gives to those who believe in Him. This week, think about how God has given this gift to us that we are underserving of, and think about your interactions with those around you. We should live a life like Christ. Who can you do something for this week that maybe you are feeling is “undeserving” of that gift? This week you have been challenged… do it anyway, in Jesus’ name.
