Snow Hill Christian Church

Snow Hill Christian Church "The Little Church with the Big Heart"
Church Service 10:00 at the church building and on zoom. Children's Sunday School meets after Praise and Communion.

Restoration Movement, Christ Centered fellowship. A friendly fellowship where all are welcome and the dress is informal. We study God's Word. Sermons are Biblical and we provide Sunday school for both adults and children. We have a somewhat liturgical, yet informal worship - using many of the new choruses - as well as the grand old hymns of the church.

This evening we will join together at Snow Hill Christian Church on Bay Street to worship with them for a Candlelight & Communion Christmas Eve Service at 7:00pm. Next year, they'll join us at Makemie Church.

He was only four years old when he was torn from his home and thrown into the nightmare of Buchenwald.
His name was Joseph Schlipstein. Among thousands of faces marked by terror, his was one of the smallest. For children in that place, there was no escape, no mercy.

But his father refused to surrender. In a desperate act of love, he hid Joseph inside a suitcase, shielding him from the eyes of the SS. For a time, that worn case of canvas and leather became his world—a fragile shelter against a world intent on erasing him.

The secret could not last. Eventually, the guards found him. Then something unthinkable happened: instead of killing him, a few of them—perhaps out of guilt, or a fleeting spark of conscience—made him the camp’s “mascot.”
It was a strange, almost unreal mercy in a place built to destroy compassion itself.

And so, Joseph survived.

In 1948, at the age of seven, he sat before an American journalist, still wearing the striped uniform of a prisoner. His body was small and frail, but his eyes held the depth of one who had walked through darkness and lived. His photograph spread across the world, a haunting symbol of endurance and hope.

He was among the youngest to leave Buchenwald alive. And he found the strength to tell his story—because some experiences, once endured, can never be silenced.
They must be remembered. Always.😍

You're only happy when you walk in total integrity,
walking in the light of God's Word!

What joy overwhelms everyone who keeps the ways of God,
those who seek him as their heart's passion!

They'll never do what's wrong
but will always choose the paths of the Lord.

God has prescribed the right way to live;
obeying his laws with all our hearts.

How I long for my life to bring you glory
as I follow each and every one of your holy precepts!

Then I'll never be ashamed,
for I take strength from all your commandments.

I will give my thanks to you from a heart of love and truth.
And every time I learn more of your righteous judgements,

I will be faithful to all that your Word reveals -
so don't ever give up on me !

We've spent the last few weeks studying how Jesus dealt with temptation, leading us to the Armor of God, which of course was what Jesus had, and so should we. We made symbolic armor for fun, learning what each piece represents. As Donna Jean said, " they won't forget this lesson," because it really was so much fun making symbols that remind us of our Christian faith. Each piece of the armor stands for something awesome, i.e. the Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. Ask the students, they'll tell you what each piece symbolizes. Coming soon: a presentation for all to see.
