Thought that many of you would enjoy this.

Max Carter was on the Thee Quaker Podcast talking about how Quakers influenced American culture — including our plainer speech, business practices, and less obvious class structure.

Anyway, it's great. I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to the Zoom call on July 7th where he tells us more — that is if you are a supporter of the podcast.

World Quaker Day is coming on October 4, 2026, thanks to the FWCC — and it’s going to be a massive global online meeting. I can’t wait for it! 🌍

“Let Peace Be Among Us” ☮ is the theme.

The worship will last 8+ hours, starting at 1400 UTC, with each hour dedicated to a part of the world in particular need of prayer and light — like Cuba 🇨🇺 and the Middle East 🕯️

World Quaker Day is on 4 October 2026, and this year’s theme is Let Peace Be Among Us with the supporting Bible passage, Hebrews 12:14, “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy.”

Have you seen this?

Today, two people climbed to the very top of the Empire State Building’s spire — no ropes, no harnesses — and unfurled a banner that read:

“When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace.”

Then, on their way down, he got down on one knee and proposed. She said yes.

They were arrested minutes later. But for one wild, tender moment, 1,500 feet above Manhattan, two people put love and peace higher than anything else in the skyline.

This filled me with hope and joy ✌🏻and a little frustration that they were arrested.

Happy Heat Wave!

You are welcome to join us for Unprogrammed open worship this Sunday, which will take place at 11:00 a.m.

Fellowship tea at 12:00 p.m.

Special note: If anyone has eggs, garden produce, or other food donations you'd like delivered to the family that Spring is supporting with food assistance, this Sunday is a good an opportunity to share. the family enjoys eggs, fruits, and vegetables (including, but probably not limited to, tomatoes, okra, cucumbers, and carrots).

Another beautiful day to serve our community. Bright sun, bright faces, and welcoming smiles as members of Spring Friends Meeting handed out healthy snacks to the kids at SAFE.

What a joy to serve our community! Spring Friends Meeting gave out 30 Snack Packs and slices of watermelon at Sylvan. 💗
