Family can be wonderful, exhausting, complicated, frustrating, and beautiful—all at the same time. But Sunday we were reminded that God doesn't call us to build a perfect family. He calls us to build a Christ-centered family.

As our families move through different seasons, the question isn't always, “How do I fix my family?” Instead, we can ask:

“What kind of family member is Jesus calling me to be?”

Maybe that's showing grace. Maybe it's forgiveness. Maybe it's setting a healthy boundary. Maybe it's learning when to speak and when to listen. And through it all, pointing the people we love toward Jesus.

Missed Sunday? No worries! You can listen to the full sermon here:

Tomorrow at Snover Heritage Church, we’re continuing our series Relate{able}, where we’ve been talking about relationships—and how healthy relationships are built on Christ.

Tomorrow, we’re talking about family relationships.

Maybe your family is close and gets along great. Maybe your family is a little more… chaotic. Maybe it’s somewhere in between.

No matter what your family looks like, God cares about our families and wants to be at the center of them.

Come join us tomorrow as we talk about what it looks like to put Christ first in our family relationships.

This past Sunday in our Relate{able} series, we talked about marriage and what it looks like when Jesus is at the center of our relationships.

One question from Sunday is worth carrying with us this week: 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨?

Every conversation, every apology, every act of kindness, every choice to forgive, every time we choose patience over anger—we're building something.

And the goal isn't to have a perfect marriage. It's to become more like Jesus in the way we love the people closest to us.

So this week, don't focus first on what your spouse needs to change. Ask: "𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘦?"

Keep building. Keep choosing grace. Keep choosing love. And most importantly, keep choosing Jesus.

It's back to school time!

And with the start of a new school year, we want to take time as a church family to intentionally lift up our local schools in prayer.

Behind every school are students, teachers, staff, administrators, and families who need God's wisdom, protection, strength, and grace.

For the next 10 days, make time each day to pray for one of the school districts in our surrounding communities. Pray for safety, families, friendships, leadership, mental and emotional well-being, Christian students and staff, and most importantly, that God would move in our local schools and communities.

Let's begin this school year by placing our schools in God's hands and trusting Him to work in ways we can see, and in ways we cannot.

Day 1 — Sandusky Community Schools
Day 2 — Marlette Community Schools
Day 3 — Deckerville Community Schools
Day 4 — Kingston Community Schools
Day 5 — Cass City Public Schools
Day 6 — Brown City Community Schools
Day 7 — Croswell-Lexington Community Schools
Day 8 — Peck Community Schools
Day 9 — Carsonville - Port Sanilac Community Schools
Day 10 — Mayville Community Schools

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆!

What happens when ordinary things are put in the hands of an extraordinary God? 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬!

Our kids are kicking off a brand-new series where they’ll discover how Jesus took ordinary people and ordinary situations and did extraordinary things.

Over the next few weeks, our kids will learn that:

🔹 Jesus is one of a kind.
🔹 Jesus is humble.
🔹 Jesus trusted God.
🔹 Jesus calls us to follow.

Just like an inventor takes ordinary things and transforms them into something amazing, Jesus shows us what an extraordinary God can do!

Something new is starting this Sunday at Snover Heritage Church.

We’re kicking off a brand-new 6-week series called RELATE{able}.

Over the next six weeks, we’re going to take an honest, biblical, and practical look at relationships—our relationship with God, marriage and family, friendship, conflict and forgiveness, loving difficult people, and what it looks like to build Christ-centered relationships.

Because relationships can be amazing. They can also be messy, complicated, frustrating… and sometimes downright hard.

But God cares about our relationships, and when Jesus changes us, He changes the way we relate to the people around us.

RELATE{able} starts this Sunday.

Come join us as we learn how to know God, love people, and live out our faith in the relationships that matter most.

Sunday, we wrapped up our CALL OUT series with Psalm 150 and a simple but powerful reminder:

If you have breath in your lungs, you have a reason to praise.

We talked about praising God for what He has done and for who He is.

We were reminded that worship isn't about getting everything in life right. It isn't about having the perfect circumstances, singing the perfect song, or even expressing worship the same way someone else does.

We praise because God is worthy.

And maybe that's something you need to remember this week.

If life is going well—praise Him.
If you're walking through something difficult—praise Him.
If you're waiting for an answer—praise Him.
If you're thankful for what God has done—praise Him.

Psalm 150 ends with these words:

“Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.”

So here's the challenge for this week:

What is one thing you can praise God for today?

Take a moment. Name it. Thank Him for it. And then look for another reason tomorrow.

What are you praising God for today?
Drop it in the comments. Let's fill this post with reasons to praise.

And if you missed Sunday's message—or just want to listen again—you can listen to CALL OUT: Calling Out Through Praise here:

A huge THANK YOU to the Bush Family for coming out tonight and leading us in such a meaningful time of worship. We are so grateful for the way you shared your gifts, your hearts, and your love for Jesus with our church family.

Tonight was a beautiful reminder that worship isn’t just about a song—it’s about turning our hearts and our attention toward the One who is worthy of it all.

Thank you, Bush Family, for blessing us tonight!

And thank you to everyone who came out and worshiped with us. What a great way to wrap up our Sunday!
