The ascension of Jesus Christ was not merely His departure from earth, it was His enthronement over all creation.
In Ephesians 4:7-10, Paul reveals that Christ descended into the lower parts of the earth and then ascended far above all the heavens “that He might fill all things.” From His seated position at the right hand of the Father, Jesus exercises absolute authority, dominion, and lordship over every power, principality, system, and realm. His ascension is not about distance; it is about governance.
Because Christ fills all things, the Church is not operating from a position of weakness but from His victory. His ascended position validates our mission, empowers our effectiveness, fuels our growth, and calls us into maturity. We are not simply waiting to go to heaven—we are being formed into a people who reflect the authority, character, and purpose of the risen King in the earth.
