THE DIFFICULTIES OF DISCIPLESHIP

What if what’s burning you out isn’t actually serving in the church…but rather trying to carry internal change without first being cultivated?

Sometimes we demand discipleship from people whose spiritual soil hasn’t been properly prepared. The result can be shame cycles, hiding, exhaustion, and even the appearance of maturity without genuine transformation.

Jesus didn’t simply call people to do more. He formed them, taught them, walked with them and then sent them.

Tonight, we’re examining the difference between cultivation and discipleship and why understanding the difference matters to your spiritual growth.

Ezekiel, while still in captivity in Babylon was able to see visions. Just because you’re in a tight, unfamiliar place doesn’t mean God still isn’t revealing. God is building your trust in Him to see even when it feels dark. The Word of God is never bound!

Decrees and declarations without intimacy with God will yield empty results. Intimacy and faith is the conduit for supernatural transactions.

Barking off commands without companionship is an indication that God is nothing more than a genie in a bottle and not a Father who’s given permission to examine intent or the Holy Spirit to intercede to redirect the prayer’s agenda.

Before discovering your voice and the application of your authority, be sure to first build your relationship with God.

The more we surrender to God, the more He will show us. Spiritual insight can only be trusted with hearts that are without divided agendas. Sight is birth out of submission, not entitlement!
