Today, twenty-five years after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives taken, honor those who ran toward danger, and pray for the families and communities still carrying that loss.
The attackers sought to spread terror, create chaos, and paralyze a nation with fear. Yet Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Having found life in Jesus, we grieve, but not without hope.
In His providence, the Lord has placed us in this nation at this time and calls us to live sent: seeking the good of our communities, praying for our leaders, weeping with those who weep, caring for our neighbors, and overcoming evil with good (Jeremiah 29:7; 1 Timothy 2:1–2; Romans 12:15, 21).
Our ultimate hope is in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, rose from the grave, and is coming again to make all things new. Until that day, may we live faithfully for His glory.
