Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Psalm 68:19

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Faithful One, you carry us when we are weary and lighten our burdens with your love. Help us trust in your care and rest in your grace. May we walk in hope, knowing you bear us up each day. Amen

Then Gideon said to him, “If now I have found favor with you, then show me a sign that it is you who speak with me.” Judges 6:17

Nikodemus came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with that person.” John 3:2

Loving Guide, you walk with us in our questions and seeking. Open our eyes to your presence and our hearts to trust your way. May we walk in faith, love, and hope, knowing you are always nearby. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen

For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past or like a watch in the night. Psalm 90:4

The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

When our heads rise from our pillows in the morning, and when we lay them down at night, dawn to dusk, you are there, God. You are watching with care; never resting, always blessing. Thank you for your blessing of peace. Amen

And when they could not bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and after having dug through it, they let down the mat on which the paralytic lay. Mark 2:4

God of miracles, the friends of the paralytic taught us that sometimes we imitate your compassion only through extreme action, and not just by everyday acts of kindness. Guide us through those times when normal methods don’t succeed in effecting your will. Amen

Monday, April 27 — Psalm 55:9–15
Leviticus 19:12–20:8; Mark 6:30–44

Let your work be manifest to your servants and your glorious power to their children. Psalm 90:16

Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. Luke 12:27

We praise you, God of creation. Wrap yourself in the worship of all you have made. Amplify the bird’s song and the waterfall’s roar as they declare your power. Give us words of praise to tell of your work in our lives. Amen
