Most people do not struggle to remember who hurt them.
We remember the words. The betrayal. The disappointment. The wounds can stay with us for years.
What we often forget is how much we have been forgiven.
In Matthew 18, Jesus tells the story of a servant who was forgiven a debt he could never repay. Yet when someone owed him far less, he refused to show the same mercy.
A spirit of unforgiveness is often a sign of something deeper. It reveals that we have lost sight of the grace we have received.
This does not mean the hurt was small. It does not mean trust is instantly restored. It does not mean the wound was not real.
It means the cross is bigger.
Today, instead of replaying what someone else has done to you, spend a moment thanking God for what Christ has done for you.
How might remembering His mercy change the way you see that person?
