Thought for the Day, 5/30/26
PSALM 29:2 "Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of his holiness."
PSALM 95:6 "O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker."
PSALM 96:9 "O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth."
PSALM 99:5 "Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy."
Surely the Lord is worthy of our praise and worship. He is the propitiation for the sins of His people. The sacrifice for our sins, the just for the unjust! He obtained eternal redemption for us! Eternal salvation by the sovereign grace of God. Once more the day approaches to be at God's house to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! To praise Him for His mercy and grace! I invite you to worship with us at the Mt. View Primitive Baptist Church. At 219 Old Blue Springs Road. Just south of Smithville TN. I'll see you in church!

Thought for the Day, 5/22/26
PSALM 25:4 "Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
5. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6. Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
7. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness sake, O Lord.
8. Good and right is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9. The meek will he guide in judgement: and the meek will he teach his way.
10. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies."
How many times have I allowed my sinful nature and the world around me to influence my choices and decisions? Instead of seeking God's way and praying that He would teach me His paths! I should always consider He is the God of my salvation! Not because I am good but because of His mercy and grace! After asking the Lord to lead him in His truth, the psalmist David asked the Lord to remember His tender mercies and loving kindness! How thankful I should be for the mercy and loving kindness I have received at my Lord's hand. How often I have failed and how gracious my Lord has been to me! So as our text teaches, Lord show me Thy paths! Lead me, teach me, guide me, and please forgive me when I fail! May I humbly and meekly seek thy face oh Lord. That I might make better decisions and walk in Thy paths! I hope and pray these few words honor my Lord and Savior and are a blessing to all who read them! To God be the glory!!!!!

Thought for the Day, 5/8/26
JEREMIAH 6:15 "Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? Nay, they were not ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord.
16. Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said. We will not walk therein."
On full display in the book of Jeremiah is the depravity of man! The people had commented abominations in God's sight. Were they ashamed? No, our text said they could not even blush in the light of what they had done. Jeremiah's message is to stand in the ways! This indicates there were more than one option to these people. Many different choices they could make. But Jeremiah tells them they are to see and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein! Now the old paths are not about tradition! It's not about grandma and grandpa! Paul's instructions to Titus were to speak the things that become SOUND DOCTRINE! Paul told Timothy to rightly divide the word of truth! The only correction for error is TRUTH! All scripture is given by the inspiration of God! And scripture is profitable for DOCTRINE, REPROOF, CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS! Psalm tells us God's word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path! Simply put for a child of God there is God's way, that is the old path and the good way! And every other choice is the WRONG WAY! No matter how tempting they might be! What happens when a child of God rebels? Whom the Lord loves He chastens! And that was Jeremiah's message! Rebellion and disobedience will bring chastisement! Seems an appropriate message for the time in which we now live! So brothers and sisters if you don't like the fruits of the devil, and the consequences thereof, then stay out of his orchard! To God be the glory!!!!!!
