There is a lot of talk about revival these days, and it is always refreshing when the Holy Spirit moves to refresh the souls and spirits of His Church. Remember reading about the wind of the Holy Spirit surging through 120 believers in an upper room and His Holy fire fell on them to empower them for His work. They spoke in languages they never learned and many mighty works were done through that mighty move of God. However, the dust had hardly settled until the same Holy Spirit had to strike 2 of the saints dead for lying to the Apostle. A short time latter Paul had to reprimand a Spirit filled Church for misusing tongues during their worship times, beside that these Spirit filled believers allowed such sexual sinful practices in the Church until the Apostle had to intervene. Yes there were several outpourings of the Holy Spirit during the early years of God's Church. But by the time the Apostle John had his Revelation from God the seven Churches Paul had founded were so corrupt until Christ threatened to bring judgement upon His own Church as He did on Israel. Go ahead, enjoy God's fresh new anointing, but make sure you stay before God for His continued empowerment for the long haul and not just shout for the moment and be powerless in the next battle with Satan just around the next bend. Be a Paul who can sing at midnight from the middle of prison and can baptize converts in the morning. Be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, in as much as you know your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
