These small chicken farms are now producing eggs and providing valuable income for ministries around the world. This project was made possible because of generous donations from people just like YOU!

The elders who lead well are worthy of a double portion of honour, most especially those who labour in the word and teaching.

- 1st Timothy 5:17

Do you show your ministers the dignity and respect they are due? Do you treat them with the honor they deserve for the work they do and the spiritual burden they bear? Most pastors don't go around demanding a "double portion" of honor, but they do notice when their work and office are not respected. This isn't just a matter of what they feel they deserve, but it is a direct instruction of the scriptures. The burden of preaching and teaching the Word of God is not an easy one to bear. Pastors regularly encounter resistance. They are constantly expected to defend, explain, and justify every word they speak, usually multiple times. They fight the same battles day after day. They explain the same concepts over and over. They answer the same question repeatedly. The work of a pastor is sometimes tiresome, sometimes exasperating, and sometimes it feels like a downright waste of breath and energy. Pastor burnout is real, especially when a pastor feels like he is talking and nobody is listening.

If you love your pastor, tell him. If you are thankful for the work he does, let him know. Do not take a good pastor for granted. That is the easiest way to lose him. Afford your pastors the double portion of honor that he is owed for his work; not because he thinks he is worthy of it, but because the Bible says he is.
