Today was a special day at Smackover First United Methodist Church as we celebrated Confirmation Sunday and welcomed a new generation of disciples into the life of the church!

We give thanks for God’s grace at work in the lives of these young people as they publicly professed their faith and took an important step in their journey with Christ. Over the past several months, they have studied, asked questions, explored their faith, and grown together in Christian community.

Please join us in congratulating and praying for our confirmands:

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Drew Henderson. Please keep Jan, Tucker, Ashli, and all of Drew’s family and friends in your prayers during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23 at Smackover First United Methodist Church.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by the service at 12:00 PM.

May the peace of Christ surround all who mourn, and may we continue to hold one another close in love, prayer, and grace.

Senior Sunday at Smackover First United Methodist Church was more than a celebration — it was a reminder of what happens when a church truly becomes family. 💙🎓

Today we worshiped together, prayed together, laughed together, ate together, and celebrated some incredible young people who are stepping into a brand-new chapter of life.

We honored Coa Langley, Cash Moffett, Lillie Martin, and Nick Kinder for their accomplishments, leadership, and the joy they’ve brought to our church family over the years. From reading in worship to sharing memories around decorated tables, every moment carried gratitude, pride, and hope for the future.

One of the most beautiful parts of the day was seeing generations gathered together — children running through the fellowship hall, families sharing meals, choir members worshiping faithfully, proud parents smiling ear to ear, and church members surrounding these seniors with encouragement and prayer. That’s the Church at its best.

As these seniors move forward, we pray they remember this truth: you never walk alone. Your church family is cheering for you, praying for you, and believing that God is already preparing the road ahead.
