Our parish will be celebrating our first St. Joseph’s Altar on Thursday, March 19th in the Hall following Mass at 6pm.

Although it is called a St. Joseph’s “Altar,” it is really a table filled with food offered in gratitude and fellowship. This beautiful Catholic tradition honors St. Joseph and gives thanks for blessings received through his intercession. This tradition began in Sicily during a time of famine, when people prayed to St. Joseph for help. When their prayers were answered, they prepared a large table of food in thanksgiving and
shared it with the community.

If you would like to participate, please consider bringing a dish to share for the table. Traditionally the foods are simple Lenten dishes such as breads, pasta, beans, vegetables, and desserts. However, meat dishes are also welcome, and foods do not need to be Italian—feel free to bring whatever dish works best for your family.
