Sunday September 6 - communion service at 10:00 am. Sermon titled, "The Most Excellent Way." Read 1 Corinthians Chapter 13. This is the famous love chapter, but we will discuss that it was not originally intended for weddings. We learn the word Paul uses that is translated as love is agape. And agape love is the love God and Jesus has for us. I sometimes call it divine love - the deepest love anyone can exhibit. We learn how agape love will last forever.
Saturday September 12 is our Fall Festival. It begins at 9:00 and goes to 2:00. Plenty of food and fellowship. Plenty of prizes. Yard sale on the middle floor. We can always use help.
Wednesday's Scripture with Supper continues with the study of 1 Corinthians. We begin at 5:00 and eat at 6:00. All are welcome.
Sunday September 27 there will be no service at Friedens. The service will be at Heritage Village - 10:00 am. We follow with a picnic and a calk walk. Always a good time. Invite your friends and bring your relatives.

Sunday August 30 - service at 10:00 am. Sermon titled, "Functioning Properly." Read 1 Corinthians 12. Learn about spiritual gifts, how our physical body is like the Body of Christ - His church, and how to use those spiritual gifts to create a church full of vitality.
Wednesday night's "Scripture with Supper" continues with the study of 1 Corinthians. We begin at 5:00 and eat at 6:00. All are welcome. Just bring yourself.
September 1 is the deadline for signing up for the bus trip to "Sight and Sound." A few seats need to be filled.
Long-range - we will gather for worship and annual picnic on September 27 at 10:00 am at Heritage Village. Watch for more details.

Sunday August 23 - service at 10:00 am. Sermon titled, "Equal." read 1 Corinthians Chapter 11. Learn how to keep worship and the sacrament holy.
Wednesday evening's Bible study continues. We begin at 5:00 and eat at 6:00. All are welcome. Just bring yourselves.
August 23 is the deadline to get info to Angie for the SEPT-OCT newsletter.
Next Sunday is the last week to bring in items for the SOAP closet.
The deadline to sign up for the bus trip to Sight and Sound is September 1. The bus is not full and might be cancelled if we do not get enough.

Sunday August 16, service at 10:00 am. Sermon titled, "The Cup of Demons." Read 1 Corinthians Chapter 10. Learn how the Corinthians behavior threatened their relationship with Jesus and each other. Hear how the devil works today and what we can do about it.
Wednesday night's Scripture with Supper continues with a study of 1 Corinthians. We begin at 5:00 and eat at 6:00. All are welcome. Just bring yourself.

Sunday August 9 - service at 10:00 am. Sermon titled, "Truly" read 1 Corinthians Chapter nine. Learn how Paul justifies his work as an apostle and how we can assess if we are doing the right exercises to finish the race and win the prize.
AT 1:00 will be the memorial service for Jackie Peters. Visitation with the family begins at 12:00 noon.

Sunday August 2 - communion service at 10:00 am. Sermon titled, "Gray Areas." Read 1 Corinthians Chapter 8. Learn how a strange concern of the Corinthians - is it right to eat meat that was offered to idols - teaches us to be careful what types of activities we can do that might harm another Christian, even though they cause no harm to us.
Wednesday evening Bible study on 1 Corinthians continues. We begin at 5:00 pm and eat at 6:00. All welcome.
With sadness I report the passing of our sister, Jackie Peters. A memorial service will be at our church on Sunday August 9 at 1:00 pm. Friends and family may visit beginning at 12 noon. Keep her family in your prayers.

Sunday July 26 we are celebrating Christmas in July at 10:00 am. We will have some Christmas music and everyone is asked to bring a gift of food for the food bank. No need to wrap it. The sermon it titled, "The Bonds (Bounds) of Matrimony." Read 1 Corinthians Chapter 7. Learn how Paul answered questions about marriage and divorce that the Corinthians had; how marriage should not affect our devotion to Jesus; and that we do NOT need to change our situation when we come to Jesus.
We continue studying 1 Corinthians at Wednesday's Scripture with Supper. We begin at 5:00pm and eat at 6:00. All are welcome; just bring yourselves.

Sunday July 19 - service at 10:00 am. Sermon titled: "Our Bodies Are Not Our Own." Read 1` Corinthians 6. Learn that because we are one with Jesus we will be with him when he judges the world. And because His Holy SPirit lives in us and he made our bodies holy with his sacrifice on the cross, we must keep our bodies holy by not abusing our bodies and shunning immorality.

Sunday July 12 - service at 10:00 am. Sermon titled: Save the Body. Read 1 Corinthians Chapter 5. Learn how sin of a member in the Body may be judged; how the member should be disciplined so that all parts of the Body can be saved; and how not disciplining can weaken a church.
After the service we will have picnic lunch in the fellowship hall. After the food we will have fellowship by staying and playing games into the afternoon. All are welcome. Not to worry if you do not bring anything, we will have plenty.
Wednesday evenings we are still studying 1 Corinthians. We begin at 5:00 and eat at 6:00. All are welcome. Just bring yourself.

Sunday July 5 - Communion Service at 10:00 am. Sermon titled: Apostles on Display. Read 1 Corinthians Chapter 4. Learn how Paul defends his apostleship against the complaints of the Corinthians; how he faults them for their lack of humility; how we can all be apostles; and what the right a wrong occasions are for us to judge.
Wednesdays we continue to study 1 Corinthians. We begin at 5:00 and eat at 6:00. All are welcome. Just bring yourself.
Sunday July 12 we will have picnic lunch after the service and then stay to play games. There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board, but if you do not get a chance to sign up, please come anyway.
In the meantime - stay cool as best you can.
