Almighty God of heaven and earth,
Your power has no limits. Even the wind and the waves obey your voice. We ask for your abiding presence to be with everyone affected by the tornado in the Appleton-Menasha area, as well as those in our own communities dealing with damaging winds, fallen trees, and power outages.
Preserve life, protect first responders and utility crews, and give strength to all who are helping their neighbors.
Lord, moments like these remind us how quickly the things of this world can change. Lift our eyes to you, our true refuge and strength. At this difficult time comfort us with your Word of peace, even when life feels uncertain. Remind us of your unfailing love through Jesus our Savior. Amen

Jesus Speaks to You
We live in a world filled with noise and distractions. Yet Jesus still invites us to do what Mary did - to sit at His feet and listen.
This Sunday we'll hear how our Savior continues to speak words of forgiveness, peace, hope, and life to His people through His Word.
"Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."
Luke 10:42
👧 Children are always welcome! Join us for a special Children's Message during the service, and don't forget to pick up a Children's Bulletin before worship.
We'd love to worship with you!

We've all experienced storms in life. Sometimes they're obvious. Sometimes they're hidden deep inside.

The disciples thought they were alone in the middle of the Sea of Galilee...until they remembered who was in the boat with them.

This Sunday we'll be reminded of a beautiful truth: Jesus Is on My Boat.

Before the sermon, children are invited to come forward for a special Children's Message designed just for them: a meaningful way for them to connect with the day's Bible lesson.

Wherever life takes you, Jesus never leaves His people.

Join us this Sunday as we discover the peace only He can give.

🌸🌸🌸🌸Meet the Bergemann’s….🌸🌸🌸🌸

Pastor Scott Bergemann is the oldest son of the late Mark and Lesley Bergemann. He grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he attended Good Shepherd’s Lutheran Church. He graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 1998, Martin Luther College in 2002, and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2007. Following graduation from the seminary, he was called to serve at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin (now New Life Lutheran Church), where he faithfully served from 2007-2026.
Pastor Scott has a genuine love for sharing the hope of Jesus with anyone God places in his path. Whether it’s a friend, a stranger, or even the bug man who came to spray the house, no one is completely safe from hearing a little about the Savior! He also enjoys running, sitting around a campfire, and having meaningful conversations over a good cup of coffee.
While preparing to take a group to the WELS International Youth Rally in 2008, Scott met his future wife, Amanda: a lifelong Mt. Zion member who volunteered as a youth rally chaperone. They quickly discovered a shared passion for youth ministry and serving individuals with special needs, and somewhere between planning the trip and serving together, God was writing a much bigger story. They were married in 2013. Amanda has taught English and Reading Intervention at Reuther High School in Kenosha since 2014. She enjoys camping, gardening, and paddleboarding in the summer and sitting by the fireplace and skiing in the winter.
God has blessed Scott and Amanda with three energetic children: Thaddeus (9), Theodore (almost 😎, and Thalia (6). Thaddeus (Thad) enjoys baseball, history, Pokémon, and his cat, Toothless. Theodore (Theo) enjoys baseball, art, RC cars, and his dog, S’mores. Thalia (Thali - with a hard "T," not "Th") loves dance, art, riding bikes, and her cats, Gobber and Lira. As a family, the Bergemanns are loyal Wisconsin sports fans who cheer on the Packers and Brewers.
The Bergemann family is excited to begin this new chapter alongside the members of St. John’s. They look forward to worshiping, serving, and growing together in Christ as they become part of the church family. Thank you for the many prayers, kind words, and encouragement you have already shared during this transition. They are grateful for the warm welcome and pray that God richly blesses your congregation as you partner together in His ministry.

A new chapter unfolds at St John’s. Join us on Sunday, July 12, at 3:00 pm for the Pastor Bergemann installation ceremony, followed by a fellowship dinner where everyone is invited to share a dish to pass. Sign up in the foyer to contribute to the potluck feast. Hope to see you all there 🙂

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Yesterday I accepted the call to serve as the next pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Long Valley, New Jersey. It has been a gracious blessing and great privilege to serve you here at St. John's Lutheran and to enjoy our fellowship and work together in Jesus' name.

This decision comes after much prayer to our Father in heaven and after bittersweet struggle. That the Lord presents me with two opportunities to serve his beloved people and faithful disciples is pure goodness from his hand. Yet, that decision carries with it the need to leave fellow believers my family and I have gotten to know and grown to love in Christ.

I'm not saying goodbye yet, though. In conversation with the congregation there, my initial plan is to relocate around the end of May/early June. That provides time for me to see some things through here—e.g., the upcoming confirmation—and help you get ready for a time of transition when members need to carry out responsibilities I would normally do—e.g., Sunday worship prep.

We'll tackle these things together, just as we have, and be thankful for the blessings our Savior and Lord Jesus gives us in the coming days.
