St. Richard's Episcopal Church

St. Richard's Episcopal Church Warmth, tradition, joy – come and see, you’ll be pleasantly surprised! Our Call: to "Show people Jesus in everything we do." All are welcome here...

St Richard’s Episcopal Church is a friendly, welcoming, and supportive community. We currently have a 9 am service each Sunday. Each of us is responding to God’s Spirit in our personal faith journeys, but all guided by
Scripture, tradition and reason. Worship here incorporates all that, but with plenty of joyfulness in the Lord. We also learn from each person’s viewpoint and experience. So while l

istening and working together, we follow where the Spirit leads: into deeper relationships and service, here in our mountain neighborhoods, and the world beyond. We like to say that at St. Richard’s you’ll find warmth, tradition and joy – in us and the service. Come see for yourself...All are welcome here!

t's been 40 years of faith in action at St. Richard's Episcopal Church! If you've ever attended St. Richard's in the past or have thought about doing so in the future, you're invited to attend the 40th anniversary of our church building dedication on Sunday, June 1st. We'll hold our regular Sunday service at 9:00 followed by a barbecue reception, and Bishop John Taylor will be a special guest at a final pastoral visitation before his expected retirement in 2026.

Please save the date and join us! The church is located on Highway 18 across from the Sky View Inn in Skyforest.

Rachel Held Evans, a popular Christian writer and blogger, has recently written about leaving the Evangelical church for the Episcopal church. Here's an interview with her about her new book. Her statements about what she has found that feed her in the Episcopal church are facinating and resonate with me (Susan) about why I love the sacramental and liturgical life of the Episcopal church.

My favorite quote from the article: Death is something empires worry about, not something resurrection people worry about."

What about you, why are you Episcopalian, and have you ever been anything else?

(note: the title of this article is misleading... Evangelicals do celebrate sacraments and Rachel Held Evans doesn't say they don't. But internet titles are intentionally incendiary to get you to click through)

The wildly popular Christian writer offers an exclusive sneak peek into her new book and its pointed message.
