Lent begins tomorrow on Ash Wednesday!

Lent is a time to prepare for our Lord’s passion, death, and resurrection. It is marked by fasting, prayer, and alms giving.

Lent lasts 40 days, which is symbolic of Isreal’s 40 year period of wondering in the desert before entering the promised land.

Catholics are called to fast tomorrow, on Ash Wednesday. We may eat one meal, and two small meals that together do not equal one meal. We are also called to abstain from eating meat.

Let us enter this time with full reliance on our Lord.

All Saint's Day Mass (Holy day of obligation) is at 7:00 PM tonight at Immaculate Conception in Skidmore.

"After this I had a vision of a great multitude,
which no one could count,
from every nation, race, people, and tongue.
They stood before the throne and before the Lamb,
wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.
They cried out in a loud voice:

'Salvation comes from our God, who is seated on the throne,
and from the Lamb.'"
