A note from the pastor:

I have never liked the cross. Personally, I hate everything about it. I think we romanticize it, overlooking the depiction of nationalism, propaganda, oppression, dehumanization and extreme violence that we hang on the walls of our churches. The audio visual techniques employed in this production have been cultivated from existing works to form a tenebrae worship experience that is meant to evoke intense emotion and deep reflection. We will close the evening with the hymn “Were You There” and it is my sincerest hope that you will feel at least a little like you have been by the time you leave tonight. There are no actors in this drama. The emotions you witness are genuine. We will all make this harrowing journey together, doing our best to give authentic hearts to the reality of a Friday that was anything but good.
