🌲💙 Feeling "blue" this Christmas? You're invited to our Blue Christmas Worship Service on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 10 am!
Why a Blue Christmas Service? Because when Christmas hurts, hope can still be found.
This time of worship is for anyone experiencing grief, loss, loneliness, or sadness during the holidays—a time to reflect, pray, and find comfort in God's presence. Pastor Mike Kleven’s message, "Blue Christmas: Tis My Season to Be Sad," explores the pain that can be experienced during the Christmas season and the hope found in the birth of Jesus.
Join us in person at FBC Falun (23661 Range Line Road, Falun, WI) or watch live at www.FBCFalun.online or YouTube.com/ or here on Facebook. Refreshments and fellowship follow the service. All are welcome! 💙🕯️

We begin a new Christmas sermon series called, "Heart Pounding Christmas." The Christmas season is not a time of joy for many people. Each Heart Pounding Christmas message will look at a negative emotion people face during the Christmas season, and then look at it through the eyes of someone in the Christmas story to see how Jesus can make all the difference.

Today's message, "Too Much: When Christmas Feels Crushing," look at how the season can be too much. By the time Christmas Day comes there is no heart space left to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Being God’s Image: Why Creation Still Matters – A 5-Week Study

What does it mean to be human? Have you ever wondered, “Where am I?” “Who am I?” or “Why am I here?” You’re invited to join us at First Baptist Church of Falun for a thought-provoking five-week study based on Carmen Joy Imes’ book, Being God’s Image: Why Creation Still Matters.

Starting Wednesday, April 2, at 6:30 pm, we’ll explore what it means to be created as God’s image through video presentations by the author followed by group discussions. This study will uncover the profound implications of our identity, how we flourish, and how we connect with others. Come discover who you are and why that matters—for you and those around you!

When: Wednesday nights, 6:30 pm – April 2, 9, 23, 30, and May 7
Where: First Baptist Church of Falun (FBC Falun)
Who: Open to everyone—bring a friend!

No prior experience required—just an open heart and a curious mind. Study guides will be provided. We’d love to see you there as we journey together into this life-changing topic.

We wanted to let you know that FBC Falun's elders have decided to cancel our Sunday worship service for tomorrow, January 19, 2025, because of the severe cold weather that's headed our way. Given the dangerously cold conditions, we've made the choice to cancel the in-person service to keep everyone safe.

Even though we won’t be meeting in person tomorrow, there are still plenty of ways to connect and worship together:

1. Watch a Previous FBC Falun Worship Service Online
You can watch a previous service on our YouTube channel. Just head over to www.YouTube.com/ at 10 am and choose a previous worship service.

2. Read the Sermon on the Mount
To get ready for our upcoming sermon series on the Beatitudes, we invite you to read Matthew 5-7, the Sermon on the Mount. As you read the passage pay attention to how what Jesus says after the Beatitudes (Matt. 5:3-12) flows from what he says about those who are blessed.

3. Reach Out to a Friend
This can be a good time to connect with someone who might need a little encouragement. Think about calling a friend you haven’t talked to in a while or checking in on someone who could use a kind word. Supporting one another is what our church family is all about!

We know it’s frustrating to cancel the service, but we believe this is the best choice for everyone’s safety. We look forward to getting back together in person once the weather gets better.

Tomorrow, December 29, 2024, marks the 50th anniversary of the death of my cousin Suzanne Kleven. I was with Suzanne when the car she was driving broke through the ice on Lac Qui Parle Lake in western Minnesota. I got out of the car, made my way to solid ice, and watched as the car with Suzanne slipped beneath the water.

My sermon tomorrow morning is titled When Trouble Comes. I will tell the story of what happened that night and look at three critical choices this tragedy highlighted in my life. I invite you to come and hear how the truth of John 16:33 became real in my life.

The worship service begins at 10 am. You can join us in person or online. The service is live streamed on our live streaming website: www.FBCFalun.oniline, on Facebook (www.Facebook.com/FBCFalun) and on YouTube (www.YouTube.com/).
