Empower Sioux Falls exists to provide operational cost savings and empowerment to Christian outreach ministries, and holistic services to our guests, for the glory of Jesus Christ. The vision of Empower Sioux Falls is to help those in poverty by bringing together area ministries through office space, church networking, and outreach services. In essence, Empower, previously known as the Sioux Falls
Ministry Center, brings ministries together for a “one-stop ministry shop” so people can experience peace spiritually, physically, emotionally and financially. A variety of ministries are absolutely necessary as each brings a unique set of gifts and talents. A guiding passage of scripture for Empower is from 1 Corinthians 12 where the body of Christ is described as having many different gifts but all for the common good. “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord….the Spirit is given for the common good” (1 Corinthians 12:4-5,7). Through the years we have added several ministry outreaches in the community. In 2018 it became apparent that we needed to bring all of our efforts under one umbrella in order to organize for more outreach. This is when we decided to use the Empower name over all our ministries, including the Sioux Falls Ministry Center. The name Empower was chosen because we believe that it is Christ who empowers us to share our gifts and bless others in His name, and we believe we are called to empower others to do the same. Empower moved into its current location, the former Schools for the Deaf and Blind, in the summer of 2020. The Empower Campus is located on East 8th Street, approximately 8 blocks east of North Cliff Avenue.
