Notes from Jan meeting:
State convention is April 4-6 in Dubuque. This is the 120th anniversary for that event.
A fourth degree exemplification will be held at this event. This would be a great time if you have been thinking of achieving your Patriotic degree.
We are trying hard to present parents of newly baptized children a symbolic rose to show our support for choosing to bring in a new life.
There will be a Confirmation retreat held at Sacred Heart on April 6th. There will be around 50 attendees. We have agreed to serve food for the candidates that day: Menu to include hotdogs, mac n cheese, chips, fruit/dessert, lemonade/water.
January Breakfast total receipts $1058
Rolls brought in $205 Nice job Scott Plathe.
Laura's Baked Goods $52 Bless her!
Breakfast $801
We didn't have a good showing for our Dues & BBQ night on the 15th. Please get your dues ($30) to Larry Locke, Jerry Collins, or Mark Wessling ASAP.
Some good news: we have two individuals that have joined online recently and we will hold an exemplification at our February (19th) meeting. Mass at 5:15, meeting to start approximately at 6:00. A strong show of support would be nice.
Catholic Schools week is the last week of January. We will be serving pancakes & sausage to all the Sacred Heart students on Wednesday the 29th of January. If you can assist, please be in the church hall by 7:00 a.m. that day.
February has a few events as well; on the 15th we will be serving our annual Valentines Italian Dinner for Widows and Widowers after 5:00 p.m. mass. Show time would be 4:30 p.m.
February 16th, is our third Sunday of the month breakfast. Help is always appreciated. We start at 7:00, and finish around noon. Any help in that time frame would be great.
February 19th is our third Wednesday of the month meeting. As stated above, mass at 5:15, meeting to follow.
I know there is much information and the need is always great. Please find it in your heart to help as you can.
Thanks, and may God's peace be with you all!
Jerry Collins
