Sister Nora Schaefer reflects on the Feast of Corpus Christi. "In many places, this feast day begins with a procession outside of the church. This procession can also remind us of Moses leading the people to the promised land for 40 years while seeing that they were fed manna that came down from heaven. God provided for the people.

"As Jesus proclaims in the Gospel of John, he is the nourishment we now seek. Consuming flesh and blood is a startling thought. This was way too much for some who were listening. How do I handle this thought?

"The bread we eat and the blood we drink have sustained us and our ancestors for centuries. It is our opportunity for union with Jesus and each other. Think back to your First Communion and what you knew then and what you know today. Remember when we were able to receive the host in our own hand and drink from the cup? We began sharing this feast in a different way. As we move into the future, how may we share more and more Eucharistic joy with others."

On World Environment Day, we celebrate the care of our common home. 🌎💚

The Sisters continue this mission through sustainable agriculture, natural burial practices, conservation efforts, and mindful stewardship of the Earth.

Did you know? Nearly one million species are currently at risk of extinction due to environmental changes. Every small action to protect our planet matters. 🌱
