As youth group draws to an end for the summer, one thing learned from the kids this year is that provides the foundation for the lesson. There are no differences capable of coming between a warm meal and a game of ultimate frisbee with one another.

This does not mean that we always get along, but it does mean we recognize the group we are a part of matters. It means we understand that Christ has called us to love each other for and through our differences, not in spite of them (John 13:34-35).

There is something we can all learn from the youth of our congregation and .

I ask that you join us for our end of season this Sunday the 31st from 6-8pm. We will provide burgers / dogs / coleslaw / baked beans and ask that you bring a dish to pass if you feel called to do so.

No Youth Group this Sunday, but may I ask a favor?

As we head into Mother’s day weekend, take the next couple days to think about what it means to be a mother. It seems to me there are increasing expectations for a as a parent, as a wife, and as a professional in the workplace.

Lift them up in love.

Be bold and tell a mom that is struggling to wrangle kids at the grocery store she is doing great! Tell your sister who is overworked that she is an inspiration and her children look up to her. Ask you wife what would make her feel truly seen, loved, and appreciated…and then do it. Tell your you understand that without her, you would not be the person you are today.

Be present, hold their hand, with them and for them.

I found this in the church parking lot this morning. I'll keep it here at the store until claimed. If there's a lost & found at the church, maybe someone can take it there!

Community?

It’s easy to think of community as where we live, not what we do to improve the lives of those around us in the place we call home.

This week during youth group Ms. Julia led a filled lesson that focused on what we do to make our community thrive (💭 1 Corinthians 12:12-26). Afterwards we did a watercolor activity that helped us define ourselves through words of encouragement from others.

As we read in Galatians 3:28, each individual matters as much as the next. The best way we as Christians can show we believe this is by making a place for all at the table, helping them find a way to use their God given talents to work alongside us within the of Christ.

We concluded by eating some tacos and praying together
🌮😊🙏🏼

The world is not too far gone – we as a community in Christ can make a difference by seeing each other for the beautiful and broken people we were created to be.

Make the decision to share without qualification, encourage each other to follow Christ, spread hope through the .

It was great to be back at after Easter break!

The youthful members of our congregation and community did an amazing job of setting and cleaning up so that we could share in a meal together! We are to have the future of our community understand and care about the importance of fellowship at the table 🙏🏼

This week we discussed how our desires can impact the decisions we make and drive the way that we live our lives. As such, we need to put on Christ daily (Romans 13:14) so that we may fight against the desires of the world that work against our will (Romans 7:14-15). Out of this brief lesson the youth came up with some questions that we will work through in the weeks to come, below are a few example 😊

How do I become a better Christian?

Did Jesus, as a man, desire the same things that we do?

How do people keep moving forward after experiencing setbacks?

Congratulations to Pastor Brandon Meacham and Sean Purdy. They were a part of Team Blue which won Love INC’s Ministers March Mania basketball game by a score of 46-45.
Unofficially Brandon scored 7 points and Sean scored 13!
Team Blue was up 15-11 at the half. In the second half, a Lake Erie Jackal joined each team which helped open up the scoring!
The game ended 45 all, with the two Jackal players shooting free throws to determine the winner.
In the end it was a fun celebration for a worthy ministry!
