Sims Methodist Church A loving, church family with an incarnational missional mindset. Worship at 10:30 am. Come see what we're about! All people are welcome! ALL are INVITED!!!

Sims Methodist Church is in the new Global Methodist Church denomination. We are excited to be a part of a Church that is boldly proclaiming the power of Jesus Christ to transform lives in the middle of a troubled world. We recognize that life has many difficulties and that people are looking for hope in a time when it is hard to find. Jesus came that we would have life, new life, abundant life! Being part of the new GMC helps us share that good news more effectively than ever before. We joined with the GMC to be a church where there is a clear proclamation of the person and work of Jesus Christ as the Risen Son of God, giver of all life! We have an understanding of the Word of God as formative- a guide for life and belief that is our foundation. We are part of a system of Church connection that provides unity of doctrine and mission with accountability to our standards of Discipline. We are excited about what the future holds! The GMC is focused on revival, spreading the Gospel, and inviting our churches into a Spirit-led renewal of what it means to be the Church together. We may be small, but we are a loving, faith-filled church. Everyone is welcomed! Everyone is invited! Come and See for yourself!!

Patagonian toothfish. The name alone could clear a dinner table. No one wanted to eat it. So in 1977, a fish merchant gave it a makeover and called it Chilean sea bass.

The rebrand worked. Sales exploded. Restaurants charged premium prices. Diners felt sophisticated. The fish was neither a bass nor necessarily from Chile—but nobody asked. It's a deep-sea species, slow to mature, and demand nearly ate it alive.

Today, it's a luxury item, and the name still sells. A toothfish in a tuxedo. Marketing at its finest. 🐟

This is the final version, in English, of the 2024 Book of Doctrines and Discipline.

We are delighted to share that the final version of the Global Methodist Church's Book of Doctrines and Discipline is now available in English on our website. This foundational document serves as the church's governing polity, offering clear direction and guidance for our congregations as we embrace our mission and future together. A limited number of copies will be published and made available for purchase in the new year. Once they are ready, we will provide details on how to place an order.

Translations Are Underway!
To serve our global community, we are actively translating the Book of Doctrines and Discipline into the official languages of the Global Methodist Church. Producing accurate and high-quality translations is a detailed process that takes time, and we appreciate your patience as we work to make this resource accessible to everyone. Once completed, the translations will be uploaded to the website. Each new translation will be announced on our social media as it becomes available.

Effective Date and Transitional Guidance
Please note that the Book of Doctrines and Discipline will officially take effect on January 1, 2025. Until then, the Transitional Book of Doctrines and Discipline remains in effect and continues to guide our governance. This document is still accessible on our website for reference.

Judicial Practice and Procedures
We are also pleased to announce that the final version of the Judicial Practice and Procedures has been posted to the website. This document, adopted by the General Conference, is now in effect and functions as church law. It complements Part Nine of the Book of Doctrines and Discipline to govern the judicial processes stated therein.

A Heartfelt Thank You
We remain thankful to the Journal Committee for their dedication and hard work on these essential resources. Their tireless efforts reflect the Lord’s continued guidance among us and our shared commitment to spreading scriptural holiness around the world.

We invite you to explore these resources on our website and look forward to sharing more updates as we continue this journey together (https://heyor.ca/zpvC81).
