All is quiet today. Jesus is in the tomb, his disciples are hiding, it looks as if the religious leaders and Rome won. But just wait, something amazing is about to happen and no one has any idea.

Today, Jesus is arrested, sentenced by Pilate, beaten, broken, and killed. We call today Good not because it is good, it is a day of mourning and deep sadness. Imagine the fear the disciples had. Can you imagine how Mary felt seeing her son go through all this? But what they don't know is resurrection is going to happen. They forget Jesus' words and teachings at this moment as their feelings overwhelm them. Soon, they will remember, and today is Good because resurrection doesn't happen without today. Death doesn't win. With resurrection comes a new hope that rests in the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ.

Reflecting on this passage, how can we better reflect the servant heart of Jesus and give the kind of grace away to others that is freely offered to us?

On this day, Judas betrayed Jesus for only 30 silver coins. You can read the story in Mark 14:10-11. We look back and can't believe Judas would do such a thing. I wonder, though, if there are times when we betray Jesus and are not faithful to our calling as the church?
