“So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The freedom that Christ provides is something that a great deal of Christians still today struggle with, and it is the same things that Paul is encouraging the believers in Galatia to stop following. A legal relationship with Christ is a relationship that is based on works and following man made rules, but Jesus’ victory has freed believers from that burden. It’s not God’s will, and He desires for us to walk in the freedom that He provides and gain strength by living in that freedom that doesn’t spin you up in the web of bo***ge.

Christ is where the freedom comes from, NOTHING of our own accord, other than accepting the gift that He is offering. When we try to “earn” our freedom through keeping a bunch of laws and rules, all we do is further entrench ourselves in bo***ge.

The freedom and liberty of pursuing freedom takes place when we stop trying to obtain freedom and just accept the freedom that He so richly offers. Letting go of guilt and condemnation (Romans 8:1) releases Christians from the penalty of sin because Christ has already dealt with sin and it has been paid in full which means all believers are free from earning salvation. Hope this helps someone today. Have a blessed day!!!!!

“But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What kind of fruit will be yielded from having Christlike fellowship? I believe that our love and obedience to Christ will present fruit that causes us to love others in a mature, spiritual, fellowship which in turns bonds a church together to battle against the snares that satan so readily throws our way.

Our everyday interactions are filled and saturated with love and those fruits flow to those that we fellowship with. This faithful love and interaction builds a spiritual power that is contagious to those that you share this with.

If we (Temple Baptist), will continually love like Christ, continually chase His righteousness, and share these characteristics with others we can expect the love of Christ to draw others to this very same relationship and fellowship. We are not perfect and should never claim to be and a holier than thou attitude is such a turn off to those seeking God. But, if you will be authentic and love others as He has loved you, that will yield the fruit of righteous fellowship and will also build growth within. All glory to The Risen King!!! Have a blessed day!!!!!

“And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.”
‭‭Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Being Jesus’ half brother, Jude has a different understanding than most. He implores us to not to skirt confronting someone in the midst of sin, but to do so with mercy and love. Leaning on the Holy Spirit’s guidance we will know when to comfort and when to rebuke depending on the circumstances. Never shun or abandon those who are entrenched in sin until after you have warned them multiple times (Holy Spirit will release you from them at the right time).

We are called to love them in spite of their errors because possibly our love is what will “snatch them from the flames of judgment.” Our concerns should not only be for people’s salvation, but for their lives and their choices that they are making that are not in alignment with scripture.

I’m not imploring you to caudal these who are entrenched in sin, nor are we to be holier than thou, but we are to be stern and truthful with our concerns. We first should make sure of our own affairs and then be concerned about others. I hope to see you this morning at Temple as we continue in the series on “Our First Love.” Have a blessed day!!!!!

““Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭21‬-‭23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Although calling Jesus Lord is vital, it is not the tell tale truth of if you are truly His. People can say this verbiage and not be saved at all. They may know the facts behind calling Him Lord and may understand the truth of the gospel, but this is not the same as being a believer. Saying words is not the same as having a spiritual relationship with your Savior.

There is coming a day of judgement and Jesus being the judge, He should know if you have had a true friendship with Him or not. If people have not been in a relationship with Him and have used the name Lord, that will have no bearing because they never truly knew Him. Here is the concerning point, they prophesied and cast out demons, yet they had no real relationship with Him and no interaction with Him, so these events were superficial at best. This doesn't discount the miracles, they really happened, but they were "performed" by false, pretend believers.

The final analysis of being saved is not a proclamation, but rather a belief in Him, a proclamation, and a relationship WITH Him. It is that connection with Him, through faith in what He did for us, that solidifies our salvation. When we are securely connected to Him and we proclaim His name, then and only then do the preformed miracles truly have meaning. We will continue in our series of Our First Love this week, hope to see you there on Sunday. Have a blessed day and a wonderful weekend!!!!!

“So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Verse 10 is a challenge, a calling for believers to live out what has been described in the previous verses. When we display and carry out the traits of faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, kindness, and love this is proof that we have been chosen by God. These are the very nature of Christ and by us exhibiting them, it is proof that He lives within us.

People may argue that unbelievers can exhibit these same traits and this may be true sporadically, but when they are carried out consistently then they come from the heart that is filled with the Spirit. And being born again we should exhibit these traits of Christ.

When we consistently do these things and create a healthy habit, we then are less likely to fall into the ways of the world. These very traits are to continually be chased after to maintain the Christian lifestyle and that lifestyle is what leads to peace, joy, and freedom from the effects of this world. Have a blessed day!!!!!
