Mount Sinai Simi Valley Mount Sinai Simi Valley provides the entire Jewish community of Los Angeles with traditional Jewish Cemetery and Mortuary services.

Mount Sinai Simi Valley opened in 1997 to serve the Jewish community of Los Angeles as they establish new family traditions. Mount Sinai Simi Valley offers magnificent landscaped properties, above-ground wall spaces, family gardens and companion estates, all surrounded by stunning mountain vistas. We provide mortuary and cemetery services with all of the respect dictated by our Jewish heritage and tradition, and all of the caring we would extend to members of our own families.

Navigating Jewish burial in the age of Coronavirus. Thank you Rabbi Kipnes and Jewish Journal for the kind words in addressing this topic. We continue to care for our communities and loved ones during this time, ensuring tradition and safety are thoughtfully met with dignity.

“Together, we navigated an uncharted process, striking a balance between caring for the deceased and protecting mourners and staff. Having intimate knowledge of Mount Sinai’s dedication and commitment from tragedies in my own life, I knew that we were in the very best of hands.”- Rabbi Paul Kipnes

On this Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the six million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust and the millions of others who perished at the hands of the N**i regime. We also honor the struggle of the survivors – those who lived through the darkest of days in modern Jewish history and overcame the seemingly unimaginable. Survivors like Sophie and Abraham Hamburger, who both survived concentration camps in Poland and Germany and went on to build rich and loving lives in Los Angeles.

Sophie and Abraham’s grandson, Jeff Schlesinger, shared this moving photo with Mount Sinai to honor his grandparents’ legacy. Pictured here is Sophie holding her great granddaughter Abigail in her arms. Abigail is named in loving memory of her great grandfather Abraham. From generation to generation, we will remember.

Now, Sophie rests at Mount Sinai beside her husband Abraham. May Sophie and Abraham’s memory – and the memory of all victims of the Holocaust – be a blessing. Together, we say Never Again.

Judaism in the age of Coronavirus. How sitting Shiva by Zoom is bringing families together in ways we could have never imagined. “A virtual hug isn’t a real hug, and sometimes I felt very empty. And yet, there was also something very special, a community of people from all over the world that came together around my mother and for me.” Read more here:
