Today's Devotions: 1 Kings 16. 2 Chronicles 15-16. Colossians 1. "Mature in our relationship with CHRIST" I'm not so good at IT and lost the post I had worked and hour on!! 😑 My Hubby said "maybe you weren't supposed to post it?" Hmm its possible it would have offended someone?! So I have decided to give you the short version. Let's see if I can do that? Lol Here goes...Colossians 1:28 says "So we tell others about CHRIST, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom GOD has given us. We want to present them to GOD, mature in their relationship to CHRIST." GOD'S plan from the beginning was for HIS Son, JESUS, to live in the hearts of all who believe in HIM, and make HIM Lord of their life. Then we share HIM with others, we testify of the Peace HE brings to our life. The goal is to become mature in our relationship with HIM. Like any relationship it takes time and effort, it doesnt happen overnight. We should be like an Athlete in training; we stay focused and not let anyone or anything come between us and reaching our goal!!AND don't try to do it alone...v.29 says "depending on CHRIST'S mighty power that works within me." The pics? UFC, at the White House. Are you surprised I watched? Well, believe it or not we watch weekly. My Grandson Kamren is 19 and we started watching with him, you know a way of connecting. Turns out all The McKeown's like it!! So we had a "UFC Party." Here's the thing...some of the fighters when they Win, thank JESUS their Lord and Savior. BUT in the next breath they spew out the F bomb. Oh my! They are obviously not "Mature" Believers. So I try really hard to not react...oh but it's difficult. Although, since the Grandkids are with us, a reaction is good!! I don't want them to think it's okay to have a potty mouth.

Today's Devotions: 1 Kings 15. 2 Chronicles 13-14. Philippians 4. "True Joy" The pic? Probably the best of times for my dad. Dad loved Country Music and Gospel music, so that was the only music played at our house. NO RocknRoll!! Lol Dad always wanted to sing and play guitar, well he made it happen when he was in his early 30's. He taught himself, and spent hours and hours practicing. I believe he taught the twins to play Bass and Guitar. JR had a natural rhythm, and couldnt sit still! So drums were perfect for him. He loved making music with his kids!! This picture was taken at our Lakewood House, so I would guess the Twins, Lindy and Linda to be about 13 yrs old. And JR, on drums, to be 15. Dad is only about 34! So young! You will notice I'm not there, sad. I eventually got to play my tambourine! Lol Sadly, I couldn't carry a tune, I always ended up off key. Don't you know when I get to Heaven I will sing...beautifully!! Philippians 4:4 is the Key Verse for the whole book. "Always be full of joy in the LORD. I say it again- rejoice!" True Joy is only found in JESUS! Paul is in prison; and tells us to Rejoice Always. Wow!! V.5 says "Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do." This is the difficult part, yes we have the joy of the LORD! But we let circumstances dictate our attitude. Oops! I'm guilty for sure! And the rest of v.5 "Remember, the LORD is coming soon." The best is yet to come! HE is coming back for us! I told Kaleah the other day "Don't cry for me when I die, I will be with JESUS! It doesn't get any better than that!!"

Today's Devotions: 1 Kings 13-14. 2 Chronicles 12. Philippians 3. "Citizens of Heaven" In Philippians 3 Paul tells us to watch out for those dogs, those people who do evil; those mutilators (legalism) who say we have to be circumcised to be saved. Paul says... I once considered keeping the law as valuable, but now? Worthless. It's not human effort that saves us, it's what CHRIST did for us!! It's knowing JESUS that's valuable, becoming one with HIM. My notes say there are 3 stages of perfection. 1. Perfect Relationship- our eternal union with JESUS. (Salvation) Colossians2:9-10 says "For in CHRIST lives all the fullness of GOD in human body. So you also are complete through your union with CHRIST, who is the head over every ruler and authority. Put your complete faith in HIM alone. 2. Perfect Progress- we grow and mature spiritually, as we trust HIM, learn more about HIM, and draw closer to HIM. (Our daily walk). What are we willing to give up to spend time with HIM? 3. Complete Perfection- When CHRIST returns to take us to our Eternal Home. Verse 20-21 says... "But we are citizens of heaven, where the LORD JESUS CHRIST lives. And we are eagerly waiting for HIM to return as our Savior. HE will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like HIS own, using the same power with which HE will bring everything under HIS control." (Heaven) A new body!? Yes!! Where I'll be able to dance like David danced before the LORD!! So let's focus on one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. If we haven't read our Bible like we should? we don't pray enough? we don't serve others at home, and in the church? Forget about it....thats the past!! Today, we press on to reach the end of the race and receive the Heavenly prize for which GOD, through CHRIST JESUS, is calling us. (v.14) The goal: To know JESUS, to be like HIM. The pics? For Attention....haha.

Today's Devotions: Song of Solomon 5-8. Philippians 1. "Marriage...until death parts you." I have to be honest and say I haven't read the Book of the Song of Solomon, very many times. It's just too personal, it makes me uncomfortable. It's an intimate story of love between the Shulammite Woman and her lover, Solomon. Or is it? Others say it's an allegory of GOD'S love for Israel or the church. Throughout the Book, S*x and Marriage are put in their proper perspective; S*x is for those Married. Male and Female...period. Chapter 8 Verse 6b says "For love is as strong as death, it's passion as enduring as the grave. Love flashes like fire, the brightest kind of flame." True love is as strong as death, it can't be killed by time or disaster. The spark could be gone; its up to the Man to bring it back!! Just kidding 😂, it takes husband or wife. Having been divorced, you may judge me, and think "why should I listen to her!" Of course none of my readers would say that! Lol Actually, it has helped me to be merciful, I know how difficult Marriage can be, I understand the desire to throw in the towel! As my friend Tish says....But GOD. If not for my desire to please GOD, who knows what choices I would make. We won't go there.... When I read this Book, I think of GOD'S Love for me. Man may fail us; HE never does. Draw closer to HIM as you read the Song of Songs! The pic? Me and Rob, before he broke his ankle, and before Cardiac Arrest, the best of times.🥰

Today's Devotions: Song of Solomon 1-4. Ephesians 6. "Are you Prepared for Battle?" In Ephesians 6 we read of The Armor of GOD. Verse 10-13 says "A final word: Be strong in the LORD and in HIS mighty power. Put on all of GOD'S armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of GOD'S armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm." There will be battles, the goal? To stand firm! To make it to the end. Note: it says people (flesh and blood) are NOT the enemy. So even though People hurt us, we need to remember they are NOT the enemy. The enemy is satan, and the evil spirits of this dark world. Satan is always trying to kill, steal, and destroy. I use to luv a good fight /argument; I liked debating with my father. Now? Nope, I just want Peace. Just as a Soldier prepares for battle, we also need to be prepared. Ask any Soldier and I'm pretty sure he/she will say it takes Daily Discipline. No 😴 sleeping in for sure!!Only after we Retire, right?! I am SO old I can sleep-in and still have time for the Disciplines of being a prepared Warrior. What are the Disciplines needed? Prayer, Reading, Memorizing and Meditating on the WORD. The Bible/Sword is our Offensive Weapon; it's the Truth of Scripture that cuts through the deception of the enemy. JESUS used Scripture to combat the temptation in the Wilderness. (Luke 4) Ephesians 6:14-17 lists the Armor of GOD. 1. Belt of Truth, (John 8:32) its our foundation; it helps us discern right from wrong. 2. Breastplate of Righteousness, (2 Corinthians 5:21)living righteously protects our hearts from the attacks of the enemy. 3. Shoes of Peace, (John 14:27) prepares us to stand firm, and gives us stability in the midst of chaos. 4. Shield of Faith, (Hebrews 11:1)our defense against the fiery darts- doubts, fears and lies of the enemy. 5. Helmet of Salvation,(Titus 2:11) protects our minds, and reminds us of our identity in CHRIST. 6. Sword of the Spirit/The Word of GOD/ Bible.(Hebrews 4:13) Remember, the Armor of GOD Protects and Prepares us for Battle. I like to add something personal in the Devotion, todays is difficult to write on; but it fits SO I will push through my hurt. My Twin Brother JR, joined the Military near the end of the Vietnam War. Thankfully, he was not sent to Vietnam, but was sent to Germany. I say thankfully, but it didn't turn out well. He got a General Discharge, because he became addicted to Herion. Please hear me, I am not making excuses for his choices. Remember he is a Twin, we should have spent our School Years together; but the School System failed us. He had to repeat Kindergarten, they said he wasn't ready. Wasn't prepared for first grade. My Parent's thought the System knew what they were doing, they did not! If only...they had held me back also, if only we had been together. I know it would have been better. Can you imagine telling people "We're Twins", and they respond "Why aren't you in the same grade?" And JR having to respond over and over again "I was put back a grade." It absolutely affected his self esteem. And the icing on it...he was probably ADD, but wasn't diagnosed. It wasn't fair, I didn't get to experience the good things of being a Twin.... I'll end with, don't try to fight the battle/enemy on your own; ask for GOD'S help.

Today's Devotions: Ecclesiastes 10-12. Psalm 94. Ephesians 5. "Where's your focus?" We SHOULD imitate GOD, in everything we do. We SHOULD live a life filled with love, following the example of CHRIST. We SHOULD carefully determine what pleases the LORD. We SHOULD be careful how we live. (From Ephesians 5) But, I am just so human!! Ephesians 5:8-9 says "For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the LORD. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true." There's hope! To get past our human nature. We have the HOLY SPIRIT in us!!Verse 15 says "So be careful how you live. Don't live like fools, but like those who are wise." Many will choose wine at the end of the day, you know "it's 5o'clock somewhere" cuz it relaxes, makes them forget the stresses of life. There is a better way...Verse 18-19 says "Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the HOLY SPIRIT, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music in your hearts." Sometimes I find it difficult to get past the voices in my head, past regrets; I have learned to put on music....it's "Glamma's List". We all have our favorites and can make up our own list. My notes say...Paul describes being filled with the HOLY SPIRIT as a choice, not a complex process. Being filled with the HOLY SPIRIT means that we submit to HIS authority, welcome HIS guidance, accept HIS correction, live under HIS restraint, rely on HIS power, and allow HIM to unify us with other Believers. Living by the SPIRIT does not mean a casual, part-time relationship with HIM. We must fill our lives with the cleansing and invigorating love and power of the HOLY SPIRIT." Wow! It takes focus. We are all just too busy living life; not focusing on HIM. Here's what I think....we don't read our Bibles because then we would have to change. Put effort into our walk with JESUS. It's easier to say "I accepted JESUS into my heart, I'm saved. That's what matters." Well sure, but there is so much more!! Let's try to stay Focused on the ONE who matters most. The Pic? Me at 9 yrs old, so skinny; my arms are held against me so my skirt stays up!! Lol That's my memory anyway.

Today's Devotions: Ecclesiastes 4-6. Psalm 18. Ephesians 3. "Keep your ears open and your mouth shut." The pics are of Robs Parent's. When Rob and I planted the The Gathering Place/Silverton Foursquare Church, Robs Mom attended often and supported us financially. In fact, she bought the chairs, that are still there today. Away with the pews!!! Haha In the beginning, we had Children's Pastor's, so I got to sit in the front row and listen to sermons. This morning as I read Ecc.5:1,2 "As you enter the house of GOD, keep your ears open and your mouth shut." I thought "Oh my goodness!! Does it really say that? I could never keep my mouth shut! Even when Rob preached, I often hollered out comments, questions, or correcting his story. Lol Rob's Mom told us that she loved when we bantered back and forth! Haha. Oops! There's more to that verse. The rest of the story..."It is evil to make mindless offerings to GOD. Don't make rash promises, and don't be hasty in bringing matters before GOD. After all, GOD is in heaven, and you are here on earth. So let your words be few." Yay! The verse wasn't for me to shut up!! It's saying...when at Church approach GOD with care, be more of a listener, than a talker. And Solomon warns about making foolish promises. It's better to not say anything, than to make a promise and not keep it. Making vows to GOD is serious; make sure you keep them!! I'll end with verse 7 "Talk is cheap, like daydreams and other useless activities. Fear GOD instead." I'm not sure what Solomon means about daydreaming, but I understand about fearing GOD. To have reverence and awe for HIM. Solomon ends the Book of Ecclesiastes with..."That's the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear GOD and obey HIS commands, for this is everyone's duty. GOD will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad." I'll shut up now.😅🤣😂

Thank you JESUS!!

🚨BREAKING: FBI Director Kash Patel announces massive crackdown — 3 million pe*****le accounts taken down on Tor network!

Director Kash Patel revealed a historic surge in the fight against child predators under the current administration:

-3,400 child predators and traffickers arrested — a 99% increase from the best year under Biden.

-7,200 children rescued and returned home.

-3 million pe*****le accounts dismantled on the Tor network where predators thought they could hide.

“We went to the cyber community and dismantled 3 million pe*****le accounts off the Tor network,” Patel stated. “Kids are being protected at levels that are simply unheard of.”

This FBI is putting America’s children first — hunting predators both on the streets and in the darkest corners of the internet.

It's a sad day 😞 for Canada.

It's a sad day 😞 for Canada.

🚨JUST IN: Canada just criminalized the Bible. Bill C-9 has passed the Senate, removing key religious protections and opening the door for Scripture to be treated as “hate speech.”

Quoting the Bible on marriage, sin, or God’s design for sexuality can now lead to prosecution for “willful promotion of hatred.”

This is a direct attack on Christianity and religious freedom in Canada.

Brothers and sisters — the time to stand is now.

Pray for Canada. Speak the truth boldly. Defend the Gospel while we still can.

Today's Devotions: Ecclesiastes 1-3. Psalm 45. Ephesians 2. "GOD'S Masterpiece " Let's start in The Book of Ecclesiastes, the Book was written by Solomon. The purpose: To spare future generations the bitterness of learning through their own experience that life...apart from GOD...is empty, hollow, and meaningless. Who better to teach than Solomon, the man had Everything! He says in Ecclesiastes 2:8b " I had everything a man could desire!" Intellect, power, and wealth. Let's not forget the 300 wives! Lol Everything he had tried, tested, or tasted had been meaningless- useless, irrational, pointless, foolish, and empty. Of No Value. Ecclesiastes 2:17:b says "Everything is meaningless- like chasing the wind." Let's go to Ephesians 2... we were dead because of our disobedience and our many sins. We lived like the world, following the passionate desires of our sinful nature. Verse 4-5 says " But GOD is so rich in mercy, and HE loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, HE gave us life when HE raised CHRIST from the dead. (It is only by GOD'S grace that you have been saved!)" Hallelujah!! No credit goes to us, Salvation is a gift from GOD. From a meaningless life to being GOD'S Masterpiece. V.10 says "For we are GOD'S Masterpiece. HE has created us anew in CHRIST JESUS, so we can do the good things HE planned for us long ago." GOD considers us HIS Masterpiece (work of art, workmanship). Ps.139:13-14 says "YOU made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my Mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! YOUR workmanship is marvelous- how well I know it." Because of JESUS we are new persons, so we should love ourselves as HE loves us. We are Valuable! Lets go back to Ephesians 2:10 The Amplified Version says "For we are GOD'S (own) handiwork, (HIS workmanship), recreated in CHRIST JESUS, (born anew) that we may do those good works which GOD predestined (planned beforehand) for us (taking paths which HE prepared ahead of time), that we should walk in them (living the good life which HE prearranged and made ready for us to live)." Are you living the "Good Life?"
