The Mandir’s
founding members were keenly aware of the struggles overcome by their ancestors, who toiled as laborers on the colonial plantations, and despite harsh obstacles, preserved the richness of their religion and culture. Today, the Mandir’s membership is comprised not only of Hindus from Guyana and Trinidad but also the broader Hindu community in Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia. The Maryland Hindu Milan Mandir is a non-profit tax exempt religious organization registered under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
