Hamal Misgav provides soldiers with food and personal items, boosting morale beyond basic needs. They supply fresh produce, Shabbat dinner essentials, toiletries, and more.The organization relies heavily on public donations, both in the form of food contributions and financial support. However, Recently, they've faced challenges in securing funds to continue their vital work. Soldiers have expressed immense gratitude for these gestures, which remind them of the support from home. I want to share with you about a really fantastic Hebrew opportunity we are pursuing for Yonah that may be something that Israeli families of teens in the US may be interested to join.

I found out about a zoom class that meets twice a week and is taught by an excellent Hebrew professor from the University of Michigan. This class is meant for teens and is leveled, such that there can be a challenging class appropriate for our kids. They need a minimum of 4 students to run the class.

Here's the blurb from the website:
"Learn Hebrew from beginner to advanced levels, based on a university model and including units on Israeli culture. New students take a placement exam before the start of the school year. We are accredited by Gratz College and our Hebrew courses cover a semester’s material over nine months of study. Eligible students can earn up to 15 college credits upon completion."
This is what I love- in addition to preserving and advancing their Hebrew, the students can fulfill their high school language requirements and also earn college credit for Hebrew language. This is really worthwhile on many fronts.
