This Church began meeting in a family home in 1877 before a building was built in 1878. Over the one hundred and thirty plus years of being a church home in one form or another, thousands of lives have been nurtured and challenged to live out their discipleship in the name of Christ. Today, the nurturing and challenging continues. Together, we of the Silver Lake United Methodist Church honor and c

elebrate the heritage of the past, the many tasks of ministry in the present and the bold challenges which lie ahead in the future. God continues to call forth, in this place, a people...to worship, learn, grow and serve in the name of the One who came that we might have life, and have it abundantly. With God's help, our Church will always be a powerful witness to this commuity and beyond...and we will move boldly into the future. With Open Minds, Open Hearts, and Open Doors.

A new school year is upon us. A message for those to hear;

Students; You do not have to be perfect; you just need to be yourself and know that God made you for a divine purpose. School is a place to grow your mind, but it is also a place where you can share God’s love through simple acts of kindness.

Parents; Anxiety is natural when dropping your children off, but remember that God loves them even more than you do. Your calling this year is to pray over them, model patience, and trust God with the things you cannot control.

Educators; Your classroom is more than just a place for lesson plans; it is a mission field of care, patience, and safety. God has chosen you to look after these minds and hearts, and He will provide the stamina you need.

Let's make this a great school year!

I apologize the the technical difficulties experienced with the live stream and recorded video, of today's service. I take my responsibilities seriously and feel I let folks down. I will endeavor to improve every aspect of the stream going forward, including the captions (which may have caused some of the issues). Just an old dog trying to learn new tricks; bear with me đŸ˜‰
