Bible Encouragement: Is God close to you?
Are you a person who possesses a humble, contrite spirit? It is an extremely valuable possession in the eyes of God. At the time the New Testament was written both humility and meekness were looked upon as weaknesses by both the Romans and the Greeks. Genuine humility doesn’t put it self forward. It does not brag about itself. It does not try to advance itself or grab its own piece of the pie. You may ask me, how will I ever get ahead? It depends, do you really believe in God? 1 Peter 5:6 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:” Matthew 23:12 “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.” Proverbs 29:23 “A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.” Psalm 75:6-7 “For promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he puts down one, and sets up another.” Ps 34:18 “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit.” If you believe in God do you want Him to be close to you? Don’t hate anymore. Don’t condemn anymore. Don’t be angry and lash out anymore. He has given you mercy, be a mercy giver. Be broken before Him. If you are humble, you will do this: Rom 12:21 “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” Comments or questions welcome.Pastor Paul

From Lisa …

It has been awhile since I posted any updates on Pastor Paul. First thank you to each of you for praying for him and his recovery!! Those are such great gifts to us!! Paul’s routine in the early morning has been to get his coffee and read the Word. Our daughter bought a speaker to listen to things. Paul had enjoyed Alexander Scourby reading the Bible while he was sick this winter. Monday morning we got his coffee and connected youtube to the speaker. He was soooo happy❤️ Thank you to each one serving us through notes, texts, meals, caring for our yards, our church family carrying on. He is working hard in his 3 hour a day therapy sessions. Thankful for the progress for him. They told us his brain is rewiring already and that is very positive and huge. We have a road to go yet so please continue praying. Our lives have definitely changed. God is good and we are blessed. I was reminded that 3 years ago our son Jonathan Alannah Michalski had his back surgery and was leaking spinal fluid, Paul had his second heart attack and the Lord was gracious to work in those trials. Do I know what our path will be? No but He does and just asking Him to give direction as we need it.

This song was new to me but He gave it in the night and it is precious to me❤️ perhaps it will encourage someone else today. “Cause me to hear Your loving kindness in the morning for in You do I trust. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk for I lift up my soul.” Psalm 145:8

The Sweetness Of That Midnight Hour

Verse 1

The sweetness of that midnight hour
When all the world is still
When you draw near and gladly I
Surrender to your will
Though no-one knows though all alone
Yet not alone for there
You meet me in the midnight hour
With tender loving care

Verse 2

The richness of that desert place
When all around is bare
And yet the fullness of your grace
Is all sufficient there
The barren land with manna filled
Now Christ who reigns on high
Still meets me in the desert place
And every need supplies

Verse 3

The brightness of that deepest night
When all is stripped away
When darkness is my closest friend
And helplessly I pray
For there though still with pain I cry
Against the velvet sky
The brightest star begins to shine
For Christ is ever mine

1 When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.

2 Are you ever burdened with a load of care? Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear? Count your many blessings, ev'ry doubt will fly, And you will be singing as the days go by.

3 When you look at others with their lands and gold, Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold; Count your many blessings, money cannot buy Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

4 So, amid the conflict, whether great or small, Do not be discouraged, God is over all; Count your many blessings, angels will attend, Help and comfort give you to your journey's end.

Paul is working hard in therapy. We are at Miller Dwan doing inpatient therapy 3 hours a day. We rejoice that he had his IV removed yesterday giving him more freedom to move about! Speech is still a struggle but we see progress. Thank you for praying for him! Your prayers are great gifts to us❤️

He Giveth More Grace

1 He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.
2 When we have exhausted our store of endurance,When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,When we reach the end of our hoarded resourcesOur Father’s full giving is only begun.
3 Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision, Our God ever yearns His resources to share;Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.
4 His love has no limits, His grace has no measure, His power no boundary known unto men;For out of His infinite riches in Jesus He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

Old song again. Rich in truths about our God! Please keep praying for Pastor Paul. He has prayed for so many through the years and he needs prayer now. Therapy will be 3 hours today again. The Lord know what He is doing and we desire to walk His path in trust. Thank you for the prayers! Lisa

The Solid Rock

My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus' name.
Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand:
all other ground is sinking sand;
all other ground is sinking sand.
2 When darkness veils his lovely face,
I rest on his unchanging grace;
in every high and stormy gale,
my anchor holds within the veil. [Refrain]
3 His oath, his covenant, his blood,
support me in the whelming flood;
when all around my soul gives way,
he then is all my hope and stay. [Refrain]
4 When he shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in him be found:
dressed in his righteousness alone,
faultless to stand before the throne.

One of Pastor Paul’s favorite songs. It has been running through my mind. Often we sing without truly contemplating the words. Thankful for the Rock He is in this life and His forgiveness of sin allowing us to stand faultless before His throne! Paul is in inpatient rehab for recovery from his stroke. Yesterday was 3 hours of therapy. He was worn out after. Please pray for healing of his brain, his speech and vision to return, our ability to care for and assure him of our love for him. Thank you for your great support in prayer and acts of grace to us.

From Pastor Paul’s wife Lisa…

This old song came to mind this morning….

I don't know about tomorrow
I just live from day to day
I don't borrow from the sunshine
For it's skies may turn to gray

I don't worry o'er the future
For I know what Jesus said
And today I'll walk beside Him
For He knows what lies ahead

Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand

Ev'ry step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb
Ev'ry burden's getting lighter
Ev'ry cloud is silver lined

There the sun is always shining
There no tear will dim the eye
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky

Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand

Our lives have changed from what has been as Paul had a stroke and was hospitalized yesterday. Praise the Lord for no paralysis but he does have significant speech problems and right eye vision loss. His speech has improved over the last 24 hours but he has a long road ahead of recovery. He will likely be in the hospital for a couple more days and then be discharged to inpatient rehab. We covet your prayers for Paul and our family ❤️

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭121‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭

Bible Encouragement Today
What responsibilities do you have today? What are you planning on doing for your mom tomorrow? It’s mom’s day tomorrow! How will you say thank you? You owe her many thanks. Who fed you, changed you, comforted you, taught you? If she taught, you about Jesus then she taught you the best thing to know. If she lived a life of sacrifice as an example you have a mom worthy of praise! 2 Timothy 1:5 “When I call to remembrance the unfeigned (unhypocritical) faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice; and I am persuaded in you (Timothy) also.” What is a good mom? God’s answer: Proverbs 31:26-31 “She opens her mouth with wisdom; and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She looks well to the ways of her household, and eats not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but you excel them all. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.” What do I have to do today? Remind you to thank your mom!!! Mine is gone from cancer so I ask Jesus to tell her thanks from me. Give her a hug… Pastor Paul

Bible Encouragement Unruly
What is it to have an unruly heart or spirit? Let’s consider the following verses together to help us define it: James 3:8 “But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” Titus 1:10 “For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision (the Jews):” 1 Thessalonians 5:14 “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.” The word in Greek, means insubordinate or unarranged. This type of person is totally unsubmissive to authority, rebellious. In a family that type of child is trouble. Contrast this spirit: Matthew 8:2 “And, behold, there came a l***r and worshiped him, saying, Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” That man had a great need, leprosy. A l***r was incurable. He was to voluntarily isolate himself from men. What spirit did he have? He worshipped. Can anyone worship Jesus with an insubordinate heart? He wanted curing. Can anyone expect curing with a spirit of rebellion? Do we all have an incurable disease that Jesus paid for on the cross? Is the first step of cleansing bowing the heart in worship? Bible Encouragement Setting Sail
This is the time of year we receive graduation invitations. Raising children is like preparing them for a long voyage. What is the most important thing to teach them? What is the most important thing in any project? Is the beginning, the foundation? In France I met a young man who is an engineer who studies rock and soil formation and approves or fails where an intended building is to be built. Is that important? Go on Youtube and search building collapses. What is God’s advice to young people setting sail? Psalm 111:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” Ecclesiastes 12:13 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” Matthew 7:24-27 “Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that hears these sayings of mine, and does them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” Are we teaching children proper navigation? Bible Encouragement Instability
Why is there political unrest and instability in governing bodies in the world? What are the implications of the following two verses: Proverbs 16:12 “It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.” Proverbs 16:11 “A just weight and balance are the LORD'S: all the weights of the bag are his work.” Are you going to buy gas today? How do you know you are going to get a gallon? If you carefully check the pump you will find that the government has appointed an office of weights and measures and that pump has been inspected. God says He appoints rulers for a purpose: Romans 13:1-3 “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:” A throne that governs for the benefit and protection of the population will continue. If it practices injustice that throne will be judged by God. It will necessarily become unstable.
Governing bodies are established by ruling with, “Justice for all.” God says: Psalm 33:16-18 “There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;” Are we doomed?
