Daily Devotion for February 17, 2023

Scripture:
Isaiah 41:10 “Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (NASB)

Observation:
They knew, no matter what time it was, that they could call me, and it was going to be okay. Raising three daughters can lead a father to lose his mind. So, I made it perfectly clear to them that no matter what time of the day or night, no matter where or when, if they needed help to call me. Today's verse speaks some wonderful words for us. It tells us to not fear or be anxious - that God will help us and uphold us. Sometimes in life, we run into trouble. We find ourselves in a place where we just need a little help. No better place than to call upon the Name of the Lord and to have a support crew ready to assist in praying for and with us. My girls knew they could call. Do you know that you can call on God at any time? Day or night, and He will be there. Don't let fear hold you back. He loves us with a Father's love!

Application:

Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.

Family Devotional: Read this chapter to your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them as you read. Talk about their answers and show them that one important aspect of this chapter is that we must continue to spend time with the Lord and keep our hearts focused on His plans and purposes. Pray for them.

Daily Devotional for November 1, 2021

Scripture:
John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” (NASB)

Observation:
I usually share about things from the past, but recently my phone has exploded with prayer requests from men seeking a little help. The texts have come in pretty regularly, which I don't mind; I always like praying with a fellow man to help his walk with God. However, it seems as if some of us have fallen to some pretty hard tribulation lately with things that have shaken the very roots of faith. Today's verse speaks exactly to this point - that in the world we will have tribulation, but we are to take courage for Christ has overcome the world! I share this for the men who find themselves looking for some help along the way. Our help comes from the Lord and in Him we find the courage to take the next step even if it's one step at a time. God will see us through. Like today's verse says "in Me you may have peace"... it may seem like the world is against us, but with Jesus Christ for us, we can have the courage to overcome whatever we face so be strong in the Lord. He will see us through.

Application:
• Personal Application: Continue spending time with the Lord daily. Sow righteousness and reap the fruit of God's unfailing love.
• Family Devotional: Read this chapter to your family. Ask them if anything spoke to them as you read. Talk about their answers and show them that one important aspect of this chapter is that we must continue to spend time with the Lord and keep our hearts focused on His plans and purposes. Pray for them.

Daily Devotional for July 29, 2022

Scripture: Genesis 28:15 (NASB) “Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

Observation:
We checked on our daughters a few times, made some calls, did some FaceTime, sent a few texts and pictures to be sure they were okay while we were away. Any parent who has gone away for business, vacation, schooling, etc. and has left children behind has this feeling that things won't really be the same until they return. Today's verse speaks of what God spoke to Jacob, about leaving his home land but God would not leave him until God did what He promised to do. In life, there will be times when we have to leave our families for a variety of reasons, but the key is to always let them know that while we are away they will be in our thoughts and prayers until the job is accomplished. Don't listen to what the world says about being a good man, be a man of God: a good husband, a good father, and listen to what God is telling you to do and keep on keeping on until the task is done!
