The first annual Mother-Daughter banquet at MillCreek Baptist was held last Saturday, May 9 in the fellowship hall. We had a wonderful turn out and the event was a huge success. Ladies and their guests arrived to the beautifully decorated hall with music and sound provided by Darwin Shepherd. Guests were greeted by Lori Smith, who captured
pictures of everyone. The ladies then moved on to their seats where a gift was waiting for each lady, along with a pot of flowers for one lady at each table who was in the “special seat.” The men of the church served as cooks, hosts, and servers for the evening. A delicious four-course meal was served by the men. (They also did the dishes and clean-up afterwards!) Kim Kirby shared her talent with several songs and a testimony about Mothers. Mila Ayers spoke about Operation Christmas Child and also shared peoples’ personal testimony of experiences with the ministry. Special thanks to Bryan Edwards for smoking turkey, beef brisket, and pork for us and to men who cooked, served the meal, and cleaned up afterwards. Also, we would like to extend a special thanks to Kathy Amelung, along with Brother Don Amelung, who coordinated and hosted this event. Thanks to all who made this event possible!
