Dear First UMC,
It’s Labor Day Weekend—the unofficial end of summer—which means fall is here! (I know it’s hard to believe while we’re still in the middle of a heat wave!)
But whether or not it feels like fall outside, our fall activities are just around the corner. Last week, during Blessing of the Backpacks, we passed out a fall “Save the Date” list with everything happening over the next few months. I hope you grabbed one—but, more importantly, I hope you’re already thinking about who you can bring along with you!
Fall is always a busy and exciting season at First UMC, and there are so many opportunities to worship, grow, serve, and simply have fun together. From our annual Fall Family Festival to our new Journey worship night, Spiritual Growth Groups kicking off, and our third annual Project Connect missional event, there really is something for everyone.
One of my favorite things about our church is that we don’t just gather on Sunday mornings—we are a community that shows up for one another and for our neighbors. So as you look at that calendar, don’t just ask, “What do I want to do?” Ask, “Who can I invite to come with me?”
Because that’s one of the ways we Love Like Jesus.
I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us this fall!
Grace and peace,
Pastor Jennifer
