Paul of the Cross founded a Roman Catholic religious community dedicated to prclaiming Christ crucified and to keep alive the loving memeory of His sufferings and death. The Passionist Community invites you to Mater Dolorosa Passionist Retreat Center, to come away and rest awhile and experience the peace in which the world cannot give.

We placed it near the 8th station of the cross, as one of his many tasks is leading groups along the stations on Good Friday and at weekend retreats! Feel free to send a birthday card to Br. Today we Celebrate the feast day of the Blessed Lorenzo Salvi. He had a devotion to the Infant Jesus and Passionist missionaries.

We also Celebrate another feast day today! The Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus! It is a universal feast in the Catholic Church, established by Pope Pius IX in 1856 to honor the love of Christ symbolized in his pierced heart.

Save the Date for a special celebration of 100 years of retreats at Mater Dolorosa! "Century on the Hill: Remember, Rejoice, Renew!" will be Saturday, September 26. Mass will be at 2:30, followed by a "Taste of Mater Dolorosa" from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

During the Taste of Mater Dolorosa, guests can enjoy appetizers and beverages from our kitchen, as well as several local restaurants and wineries, in locations across the beautiful Mater Dolorosa grounds.

Attendees must be 21 or older. More details will be published this spring at "Harvest on the Hill". Tickets will go on sale in late June; we recommend buying early, as this special centennial event will sell out quickly.
