I have been uploading my sermon that I write and asking for a compressive image to be created of the sermon each week. Some tweaking but it is a nice hand out for our visual learning folks and to take for weekly study. This was the image from this weeks message.

01/03/2026

Starting this weekend, join us on weekly on Saturday Nights at Pasco Methodist Church 7pm and/or Sunday Mornings at Pemberton Methodist Church 10 am as we spend the year being “Buit Together”.

We will be using building blocks as our core Illustration throughout the year. So no matter If you feel all put together, like you are missing some peices In your life, or you are a total mess and want to rebuild. This year will be a great opportunity to see God work In your life.

Theme Scripture: Ephesians 2:21–22
“21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

Our Vision for 2026

This year, Pasco Methodist and Pemberton Methodist will focus on how God is shaping us—individually and together—into a strong, faithful, Spirit-filled community. Like bricks in a building, each person matters. God is the Master Builder, forming us into something beautiful for His glory.

December 16 — Joy Is a Work of the Spirit

Scripture: “When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.”
— Luke 1:41 (NIV)

Story
A youth pastor once described joy as “the moment your heart leaps before your mind catches up.” He told of watching teens at camp when they first arrived: exhausted, nervous, unsure. But on the second night, during worship, something shifted. A girl in the back row raised her hands for the first time. A boy whispered a quiet prayer. Another teen wiped away tears as he sang.
“You can’t manufacture that,” the pastor said. “It’s the Spirit moving.”
Joy is rarely surface-level—it often begins deep inside, stirred by God.
Diving Deeper
Elizabeth’s joy was not merely emotional; it was Spirit-born. The text says she was “filled with the Holy Spirit” the moment Mary entered the room.
This is significant:
Joy came before circumstances changed.

Joy came before John or Jesus were born.

Joy came as a response to God’s presence.

The leaping of John in the womb was not random movement—it was a prophetic response to Christ.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, joy follows.
Not always loud. Not always dramatic. But unmistakably genuine.

Reflection
Have you ever experienced joy you couldn’t explain—joy that arrived in prayer, or during a hymn, or sitting quietly with Scripture? That joy isn’t self-generated. It is a grace gift.
Advent joy is God reminding you, “I am here. I am working. I am with you.”
Ask the Holy Spirit to rekindle joy in you today—not the joy rooted in circumstances, but in Christ’s nearness.

Challenge: Thank God today for one thing He is doing in you—even if it feels small.

December 15 — Joy Seeks Community
Scripture: “At that time Mary got ready and hurried… to visit Elizabeth.”
— Luke 1:39 (NIV)
Story
A pastor tells of a man in his congregation who always arrived early to church on Easter Sunday to save a row for his entire extended family. “Joy is meant to be shared,” he would say. “Celebration is better when we do it together.”
Mary understood this. When God moved in her life, she didn’t stay home in isolation—she hurried to community.

Diving Deeper
Mary traveled nearly 100 miles to reach Elizabeth—a journey that could have taken 8–10 days. What drove her? Joy.
After the angel’s visit, Mary didn’t retreat. She sought out someone who would understand, someone who had also experienced God’s miraculous work.
Joy multiplies when shared.
Elizabeth’s greeting, John’s leap, Mary’s song—this entire passage radiates communal joy.
Scripture teaches that joy is not a solo experience.
Wesley understood this deeply—our faith is strengthened in fellowship, in class meetings, in relationships soaked in grace.
Reflection
We live in a world that isolates. But joy grows in community.
Is there someone you can “hurry to” today—someone you can encourage, celebrate with, or simply be present for?
Don’t keep joy to yourself. Share it. Spread it. Let it grow.

Challenge: Call or text someone today simply to encourage them.

Our Song Suggestion today for you to listen to while reflecting is “Joy to the World”
