Cycling and Seasons
Sadly, it is soon time to put our bicycles away for the winter. Not that we won't be thinking about them, cleaning them up, studying new ideas about riding technique and equipment, perhaps working on making them stronger or imagining ways that we could make better use of them... so winter can still be a time for preparation, and for growth in bicycling. Before long there will be the anticipation of spring, and riding again.
Our faith has its seasons, too: seasons for study and strengthening, seasons for giving and thanksgiving, seasons for exploring new ways of faith-inspired living, and seasons of anticipation for the coming of our Lord. As you begin the process of putting your bike (and other things) away for the winter, think about how you will make the most of this coming season of faith.
Need some ideas, or rejuvenation? Come worship with us on Sunday morning at 10:30 am! Advent is just around the corner. How will you spend it this year? Weekly Bible study? Morning of evening devotions? Gathering with friends to share love and support, encouraging each other to resist the forces that emphasize a culture of consumerism, with its false promise of satisfaction through spending? May your spirit find rest in knowing that God love you, and is ready to guide you through the next season of faith.
