David Tjarks, a long time member of St. John's, died suddenly on Saturday, September 5, 2026. His family is having a celebration of Life for him on Wednesday, September 23rd in the Parish Hall. Please hold David's family and friends in your prayers.

Coming soon -- God's Work ~ Our Hands FOOD DRIVE in the Village of Sibley on Sunday morning September 27th -- Hosted by St. John's Lutheran Church. We invite the community to help us gather food, personal hygiene items, toilet paper, paper towels, etc to help the emergency Food Pantry at Shepherd's Closet in Gibson City. Watch for details to be delivered to your door on Sunday morning, September 20th around 9:30am.

When the preaching ends, the songs stop, and everyone goes home, your Christianity should not end there.

Live out your faith in your home.
At school.
At work.
In traffic.
On social media.
In the way you speak.
In the way you forgive.
In the way you treat difficult people.

It is easy to look spiritual inside a church service.
The greater test is how you live when no one is watching.
Do you still honor Christ when the service is over?
Do you still speak with grace?
Do you still choose integrity?
Do you still serve others?
Do you still resist temptation?
Do you still reflect Christ?

The world does not only need to hear what you believe.
It needs to see what you believe.
Your life should preach long after the sermon is finished.
Let your faith move beyond Sunday.

“You are the light of the world…”

Do not only go to church.
Be the church wherever God places you.
