PTL Sisters..
Our devotion today comes from James 4:6-10.

6] “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

7]Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

8]Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

9] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

10] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”

Focus verse is verse 10... Humble yourselves in the Lord and he shall lift you.
We have to watch and resist pride, arrogance, and haughtiness. We are nothing without God's grace and mercy.

It is HE who gives us strength to gain wealth. (Deuteronomy 8:18).

Proverbs 22:4 “By humility and the fear of the LORD Are riches, and honour, and life.”

Matthew 23:12 “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”

Matthew 5:5 “ Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

God's word is clear. Stand on the promises that are written and are already given to us IF WE ONLY BELIEVE.

Be blessed and encouraged to walk with Jesus today.

OUR passage today comes drom James 4:1-5

1)“From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?

2]Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

3]Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

4]Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5]Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? ”

Focused verse is verse 3. This verse reminds us that our motives and our desires when we ask God for something must not come from a place of jealousy and envy.

God will give us the desires of our heart IF we seek him first (Psalms 37:4).

Matthew 6:33 says “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. ”

We have to seek him with a pure heart and motives AND not be at war with God.

Have a blessed day.

GM and PTL!!!!
OUR passage for today comes from James 3:13-18.

13] “If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.

14] But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying.

15]For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.

16] For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.

17] But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.

18] And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.”

I chose the New Living Translation for this passage. It makes it plain that we are called to a life full of peace and wisdom.

If any man lacks wisdom, ask for it and God will give it.. (James1:5)

Proverbs 3:14-15 says
14]“For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and her wages are better than gold.
15] Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.”

Seek God for wisdom. Wisdom can open doors beyond our limited eyes and beyond our simple minds.

Wishing you a glorious day in the Lord.

PTL!!
Today's inspiration comes from Janes 2:5-12.
5]“Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
6] And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7] For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
8] but the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9]Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10] Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11] Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12]Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.”

WATCH your mouth. The tongue is probably the smallest member of the body, but yet it is unruly and cannot be tamed according to this passage.

Listen more.. talk less.

As small as it is, the tongue can cause severe damage to our lives, the lives of others, to our mission and purpose for God, to our blessings..

Cursing and blessing cannot come from the same tongue.. Whichever one gets utilized more will override the other and become the master.

Pick your words wisely.

Have a blessed day.

PTL!!!
Today's passage comes from James 2:14-18.
14 “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15] If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them,

16] Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17] Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. ”

Faith without actions/deeds is useless. Faith requires actions. Faith requires us to trust God, but also requires us to move and to work for Him to fulfull the duties outlined in His word.

Have a blessed day.

We are reading and studying the book of James the next 2 weeks.
Please join and share your thoughts and comments.
Our passage today comes from James 1:12-15 KJV

[12] Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

[13] Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

[14] but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

[15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

What an enlightening passage. God does NOT tempt us, but He allows us to be tempted. But we must endure the temptations and the trails. BECAUSE at the end if it THEN shall we receive a crown promised to those who love HIM.

It warns that temptation (a strong desire to have something or to do something that you know is wrong, harmful, or against your long-term goals) leads to LUST and LUST leads to SIN.. And SIN leads to death and destruction.

This walk IN salvation requires us to be active in faith. We have to talk differently, dress differently, look differently, act differently, walk differently IF we are going to make it to heaven.

God will not and does NOT accept anything and everything. He wants our best not our mess.

This is my prayer today thay we give God what he is looking for so we can spend eternity praising HIM.

Have a blessed day.

OUR passage for today comes fromJames 1:2-8 NKJV
[2] My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,

[3] knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

[4] But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

[5] If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

[6] But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

[7] For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;

[8] he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

The sermon from yesterday was Can your faith survive the wait? This passage aligns with that thought.

Will we... can we HOLD on to our faith and knowledge of God until whatever we are seeking for, praying for, believing for come to past.

Can we do this with joy, patience, gratitude?

Can we still rejoice and praise him in the middle of every, trial, situation without compromise?

Sisters, we CANNOT faint, falter, or stumble if we are going to see Jesus.

Be encouraged and have a blessed day.

Cover someone in prayer today.
