Mark 6:45 - Immediately after [the miracle of feeding the five thousand], Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and head across the lake to Bethsaida, while he sent the people home.

The disciples had just seen Jesus feed five thousand men plus women and children with five loaves and two fish. For Jesus to “insist” that they leave this place of blessing and joy implies that they strongly wanted to stay. Then as the disciples were crossing the lake, they were caught in a great storm that had them in “serious trouble.” Jesus sent them into the storm, then came walking to them on the water, climbed into their boat, and the raging wind stopped. The difficulty brought them into a second miracle to increase their faith. Sometimes God will take you out of a comfortable situation, out of a place of blessing where you’re seeing favor, and take you into a storm of difficulty that looks like it will defeat you. It doesn’t make sense, but don’t be frustrated. That closed door, the delay, or the trouble is a setup that is moving you into something greater. Great favor, great health, great relationships are on the way. Trust God’s way when you don’t understand.

Prayer For Today:
“Father, thank You that You are in control of all the situations in my life, the places of blessing and favor as well as the storms. I choose to let go of the anxious thoughts that trap me in worry and discouragement. I declare that my trust is in You alone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Deuteronomy 28:13 - The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

You may face generational limitations that have held your family back and kept you down. But God’s blessing on you has marked you to put an end to dysfunction, depression, anger, poverty. It may have been that way in the past, but God raised you up to be on top. You’re the difference maker. You’re the one to set a new standard. Thoughts will whisper, “It’s never going to change. You’re not that strong or talented.” Don’t believe those lies. You’ve been marked for this time with a divine empowerment. You’re not doing things on your own. There is a supernatural force breathing in your direction. What others have done in your family line may have put you at a disadvantage. They left you with negative baggage to deal with. The good news is, the blessing always overrides the curse. You’re about to see a shift. Strongholds that have held your family back are coming down. Negativity, lack, compromise, and addictions are being broken. You’re going to step into a new level of freedom, joy, fulfillment, abundance. It’s the blessing God put on your life.

Prayer For Today:
“Father, thank You for every blessing You have put on my life. Thank You that You break generational limitations, that You’re opening doors that I can’t open, putting me at the right place, bringing the right people, taking me where I could not go on my own. I declare that I am blessed. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Psalm 31:15 - But I am trusting you, O Lord. I said, “You alone are my God; my times are in your hands.”

Life is too short for you to live striving to force doors of opportunity to open, trying to convince someone to like you and working hard to win their approval, straining to manipulate a situation so you can win the upper hand. That’s going to wear you out and waste your time. David recognized that his times were in God’s hands. He was saying, “I’m not going to be frustrated by delays, or sour when it’s not working out the way I want, or discouraged because I’m not as far along as I thought I’d be. My God is in control.” Timing is critical. You have to realize that you can do the right thing, but if it’s not the right time, it won’t work out. When it’s not the right time, no matter how hard you try, the door is not going to open. When you don’t feel a peace about it, when there is a sense of unrest in your spirit, you can’t make the wrong time into the right time. You have to come back to a place of peace and rest in God’s hands.

Prayer For Today:
“Father, thank You that You alone are my God and You know best when it comes to the things I want and ask You for. Thank You that You are directing my steps, and my times are in Your hands. Help me to be sensitive in my spirit to Your timing and stay in peace rather than strive and strain. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Colossians 1:11 - …being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience.

When you look at the life of David, he had many mountaintop moments that we celebrate—his anointing to be the next king of Israel, defeating Goliath, becoming a national hero, conquering enemy armies. These were moments when God suddenly promoted, blessed, favored. But most of David’s life was spent in the valleys where it didn’t look like God was doing anything, times that were lonely, unfair, uncomfortable. If it wasn’t for the grace of God strengthening David with all power, he would not have had the great endurance and patience it took for him to reach the throne. It’s easy to get discouraged when things aren’t changing as fast as we would like. We know God has put promises in our heart, then opposition shows up with a flood of trouble, heartbreak, and anxiety. Know that in that moment God is going to strengthen you with supernatural power to have great endurance. What should discourage and defeat you will give way to fresh passion and vision that will propel you into your purpose.

Prayer For Today:
“Father, thank You that Your power is at work to strengthen me in order that I can have great endurance and accomplish great things. Thank You that I can put the discouragements of the valley behind me and stir up my faith. I believe that You are pushing me forward into my purpose. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

1 Peter 1:13 - So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.

Imagine that your mind is a four-bedroom house, with occupants in each bedroom. One bedroom has fear living in it. It moved in during that difficult season when so much went wrong. Another room has guilt that’s been staying there since you made that mistake. Another room has doubt living there. Now you’re so down on yourself. Inferiority settled in the last room when you were a child, when people made you feel less-than and said you would never do anything significant. What would happen if you evicted those wrong tenants? How much higher could you go if you evicted the thoughts telling you that you’ll never get well, never break the addiction, never see your family restored? Those are lies that have no right to stay. How much more will you accomplish if you evict the thoughts of unworthiness, thinking you don’t deserve to be blessed? What could you become if you evict the not-qualified thoughts, the not-talented-enough thoughts? Your mind is valuable real estate. Get those thoughts out and replace them with what God says about you.

Prayer For Today:
“Father, thank You that I can let the message of Jesus and what You say about me fill all the rooms of my life. Thank You that all the negative thoughts that have held me back are evicted by the truths in Your Word. I declare to every fear and doubt that there is no vacancy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 - Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

When you’re facing unfair situations and nothing is changing, it’s easy to turn what should be joyful prayers into complaining sessions. Rather than giving thanks to God for our circumstances, we air out all our worries and tell God everything that’s wrong and how bad life is. “God, I can’t take this pressure at work. You have to heal my son before he drives me crazy. This setback took all my savings. God, do something.” Yes, God is concerned about what concerns you, but complaining doesn’t get His attention. Take a different perspective and say, “God, all these things seem to be working against me, but thank You that You’re fighting my battles. Thank You that You hold victory in store for the upright. Thank You that I have joy that no one can take from me.” That not only helps you to stay stronger, builds your faith, keeps you encouraged; that’s what allows the Most High God to go to work. When you’re always joyful, thanking God, talking about how great He is, you’re going to see His favor in amazing ways.

Prayer For Today:
“Father, thank You that I can be thankful in all circumstances today because You are bigger than any of my circumstances. Thank You that I can walk in Your will and be filled with joy. I declare that I believe You are fighting my battles and will bring me through to victory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

John 14:12 - Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.”

We’re coming into a time when God is going to show out in greater ways. There are going to be greater works done. The Scripture says, “These signs will follow them that believe.” There are going to be some signs following you—not ordinary things, not what you’ve seen in the past, not what you can do through your natural ability, but awe-inspiring deeds. God will put you in situations where you’re up against what looks impossible. The sickness will be too much, the problem too great, the dream too big. It’s easy to let fear, intimidation, and doubt talk you out of it. This is when you have to remind yourself that you were created to perform greater works. The apostle Paul says, “You haven’t seen, heard, or imagined what God has in store for you.” Get ready. It’s coming. You have God’s favor and anointing upon you, and you are marked for greatness. He is moved by your faith, and He is going to show out in your life in unusual, uncommon ways. God is about to do something you’ve never seen.

Prayer For Today:
“Father, thank You for the greater works that You have planned to do through me. Thank You that You created me to activate my faith and believe that I can make a difference in the world in greater ways than I’ve imagined. I declare that I refuse to let fear and unbelief hold me back. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Ephesians 4:31 - Banish bitterness, rage and anger, shouting and slander, and any and all malicious thoughts—these are poison.

With so many social media platforms today, people can express their negative opinions about you so easily and say things that are derogatory, disrespectful, rude, and fault-finding. The only power that has is the power you give it. If you let what flows from their jealousy, bitterness, or anger get in you, if you dwell on it, that will poison your spirit. Over time it will change who you are. You’ll become defensive and waste your time trying to prove to people that you’re okay, that you’re not what they said. That’s giving them your power. Don’t pay attention to what they’re saying. Quit reading the negative comments. Don’t get drawn into a battle that you’re not supposed to be in. Don’t let their gossip, jealousy, or criticism get in your spirit and steal your joy. Don’t give it the time of day; ignore it and move forward. Keep doing the right thing, and God will deal with the detractors. Stay focused on your goals, your dreams, and fulfilling the destiny God has given you.

Prayer For Today:
“Father, thank You that You are my vindicator and that You will protect my reputation as I keep on honoring You and doing what is right. Help me to banish any negative chatter that is expressed against me and to not read it or listen to it. I believe that You will handle it Your way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
