All the guests seemed to enjoy our GEMs Night Out Christmas Party because we celebrated Jesus’ birthday with dinner, crafts, games, and presents. That’s not all! The children got to know some new volunteers and spend time with friends who are considered “typical” children. Oooo, I hate labels! Every child is valued and has different abilities. Merry Christmas to all! Our story time reminded the children to not miss Christmas by just looking at the lights, decorations, and number of presents, but look for the real reason for Christmas. We missed Mr. and Mrs. Claus, but we don’t want them to get sick before the 24th!!

Children’s GEMs Night Out will be Oct. 4th. Theme is “Let Jesus’s Love FALL on You!” 6-9pm. Please register by Thursday so I can have a tentative count.

YAH GEMs kicked off the fall with a fun tailgate dinner and dance. Nachos, corn dogs, and cookies - what’s not to enjoy! For me, the smiles and joy on everyone’s faces, was priceless. There were lots of NFL team fans present last night. The DJ was a little prejudice and cheered for the Cowboys a lot. Many, many thanks to the adults and teens who welcomed the 204 guests. You made everyone feel valued and loved.
