Our Community Bistro is back into the School Park neighborhood to make sure our seasoned citizens are fed, loved, and remembered!

Our first senior lunch showed us just how important this work is. We heard directly from elders who shared that preparing meals for themselves has become difficult, and for some, a delivered meal may be the only meal they receive that day.

We heard them. And we’re going back. ❤️

🎉🍽️ A Beautiful Beginning for The District! 🍽️🎉

What an incredible day!

Yesterday marked the official launch of The District, our new community bistro, and what a tremendous first day it was. Our inaugural culinary partner, Kay Brown Mandosia , owner of Stick To Your Ribs and one of our 501c3 Kingdom Business Incubator entrepreneurs, did an outstanding job serving delicious meals with excellence and love.

Most importantly, dozens of our treasured senior citizens from the School Park community gathered to enjoy lunch, fellowship, laughter, and meaningful conversation, courtesy of Apostle Steven J. Newton Sr. Steven Newton & The Kingdom Center - Shreveport/Bossier.

As we sat with our elders, we heard stories that moved our hearts. Several shared that they no longer have the physical ability to prepare meals for themselves. For some, if a family member, neighbor, or friend doesn’t bring them something to eat… they simply don’t eat.

That reality changed something in us.

We’re going to help with that.

The District was never intended to be just another place to grab lunch. It was created to become a place where community is nourished, entrepreneurs are empowered, and our neighbors are cared for with dignity.

Today confirmed that this is bigger than food.

It’s about restoring connection. It’s about honoring those who came before us. It’s about creating opportunities for local businesses. It’s about making sure no one in our community is forgotten.

And the exciting part… 👀

We’re already in conversations with the next Kingdom Business Incubator vendor who will have the opportunity to serve through The District. This is exactly the kind of economic and community ecosystem we’ve been praying to build.

Where local entrepreneurs grow while simultaneously meeting real needs in our neighborhoods.

We’re incredibly excited about where the Father is leading us and grateful to everyone who helped make today possible.

This is only the beginning.

We are honored to host lunch for some of the Seasoned Saints of the School Park community through The District, our new community bistro.

We’re also excited to highlight one of our 501c3 Kingdom Business Incubator partners, KeAlfra Brown, owner and operator of Stick To Your Ribs, who will be preparing tomorrow’s delicious meals.

🏠 NeighborLift Update | August Rental Assistance

We are grateful to share that all available NeighborLift Rental Assistance funds for the month of August have been awarded to qualifying households in our community.

To every donor, volunteer, partner, and supporter, thank you. 😊 Your generosity is helping families remain safely housed and creating greater stability throughout our community.

If you would like to be considered for September Rental Assistance, we encourage you to begin the process now.

The first step is completing our Community Assessment, which helps us better understand your household’s needs and connect you with the most appropriate resources through our Community Housing Stability Program.

☀️🎒 WHAT AN AMAZING SUMMER GIVEAWAY! 🎒☀️

Temple of Vision Community Services would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to Dollar Mania La Hair & Beauty Supply for the opportunity to participate in such an incredible community event!

More than 3,000 backpacks were distributed while supplies lasted, along with:

We have to give a special shoutout to Apostle Steven J. Newton Sr. for getting into the dunk tank and providing more laughter than anybody expected; especially for the children! 😂💦 Even with a little emergency 🚨 assistance from Shreveport’s amazing EMT staff. 🤦🏽‍♂️ 😂

Through their generous support of the Tiger’s Care Closet, we’ll be able to provide hygiene essentials that will help serve more than 350 students!! Supporting dignity, confidence, wellness, and their ability to show up ready to learn. 📚✨

We’re helping stock the campus for the entire school year. 🙌🏽

We’re sadden to share devastating news once again, informing you all about the passing of our beloved church member.

Sadly Keldrick “Big Bo” Scott made his earthly departure to go spend eternity with our God. Keldrick was one of our quiet members that attended church and loved his church family.

His mom and dad are faithful members to our church and has been a member for many years.

Today we’re asking our church family, guest and friends to keep Keldrick’s family lifted in your prayers.

Cherish those memories you’ve spent with him and we will do the same.

Farewell our brother, take your rest 🕊️

The final day of hosting Camp with Big Fella 2026 at our Community Service Center is upon us, and what a wonderful success it has been! 🙌🏽💙

For two full months, children from across the city filled our campus every day from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with energy, laughter, creativity, learning, and life.

We are grateful to Camp Founder Zilgian Barton, his wife, and the entire Big Fella Luv The Kidz Foundation team for creating such an awesome summer experience for our children. Your commitment, vision, and love for the next generation were evident throughout the entire camp.

Thank you for trusting our campus, our facilities, and our team to help support this vision.

It has truly been our honor to serve you all, partner with you, and help create a safe and meaningful space for children from throughout our city.

Congratulations on an incredible Camp with Big Fella 2026! 🎉👏🏽
