Holy Eucharist, Rite II, The Fifteenth Sunday After Pentecost

Make some cookies for Kairos, and bring them to the Parish Hall on Sept. 16:
Chocolate Chip
Ingredients

2 cups butter, softened, or Crisco
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
4 cups flour
5 cups blended oatmeal
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
24 oz. chocolate chips
1 8-oz Hershey bar, finely chopped

Directions

Cream the butter/Crisco and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until fluffy. Add flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Stir in chips and Hershey pieces.

Refrigerate for one hour.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Drop by tablespoon-full onto a cookie sheet, two inches apart. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool completely.
