7th place out of 27 schools with only 5 lifters is something to be proud of! Congratulations to Cade Lazarus for placing 1st in the 114 pound weight class and to Z’Ryan Miles for his 1st place finish in the 220 pound weight class with 2 divisional records as well as best lifter. Proud of these guys and the hard work they put in week in and week out.

Our girls powerlifting team competed at the north regional meet at Ruston High School on Saturday and did a fantastic job! Lots of PRs and 3 state qualifiers.

Chloe Vance, a freshman in the 114 pound weight class qualified for state with a 280 pound total. Best squat 85, best bench 45 and best deadlift 150.

Serena Kirby, a junior in the 148 pound weight class qualified for state with this being hwr 1st year competing. Her total was 600 pounds. Best squat 230, best bench 120, best deadlift 250.

Kaitlyn Veals, a senior in the 148 pound weight class also qualified for state with a 580 pound total. Best squat 235, best bench 100, best deadlift 245.

Lizzy Cantrell, a sophomore in the 165 pound weight class finished with a 495 pound total. Best squat 200, best bench 90 and best deadlift 205.

Aowyn Cooke, a sophomore in the 181 pound weight class finished with a 555 pound total. Best squat 230, best bench 110, best deadlift 215.

Addison Rodgers, a senior in the 181 pound weight class had a 460 pound total. Best squat 165, best bench 90 and best deadlift 205.

Each girl has worked so hard this year and hit at least 1 PR in the regional meet.

Can’t wait to see what our 3 state qualifiers bring to the platform at state!

Calvary Powerlifting is raffling off 2 court side tickets to the March 8th New Orleans Pelicans vs Washington Wizards game! These all inclusive tickets include court side seats plus all you can eat and drink. Raffle tickets are $25 each and the drawing will be held on March 5th. To purchase a chance to win; Venmo -Lazarus and put “raffle” in the memo. All proceeds help us get to State.

Saturday was a great day for the boys powerlifting team as they competed at boys north regionals at West Monroe High School. We were able to take 11 lifters to regionals, 2 of which finished 2nd place in their respective weight classes.

114 Cade Lazarus (senior) finished the day in 2nd place and qualified for State with a 845 pound total. Best squat 335 Best bench 170 and Best deadlift 340

114 Karson Wilkerson (freshman) had a great day on the platform with a 490 pound total. Best squat 180 Best bench 100 and Best deadlift 210

123 Jase Lazarus (sophomore) finished the day in 6th place and qualified for State with a 695 pound total and PRs in every lift. Best squat 285 Best bench 130 and best deadlift 280.

132 Bryce Colvin (junior) qualified for State with a 715 pound total. Best squat 275 Best bench 135 Best deadlift 305

165 Branson Bishop (freshman) finished the day in 8th place and qualified for State with a 1080 pound total. Best squat 415 Best bench 250 Best deadlift 415

181 Seth Sharp (junior) finished the day with a 895 pound total. Best squat 335 Best bench 215 Best deadlift 345

198 Drew Plumlee (freshman) finished the day with a 945 pound total. Best squat 340 Best bench 210 Best deadlift 395

198 Luke Silvils (freshman) finished with a 920 pound total. Best squat 345 Best bench 155 Best deadlift 420

220 Jake Purvis (senior) finished up his senior year with a 930 pound total. Best squat 375 Best bench 205 Best deadlift 350

220 ZRyan Miles aka Z (junior) placed 2nd with a huge 1550 pound total that qualified him for State. Best squat 655 Best bench 360 Best deadlift 535

SHW Matt Ford (freshman) ended with a 1095 pound total. Best squat 435 Best bench 265 Best deadlift 395

This is a mostly young team with lots of potential and a great work ethic. We are so proud to have them represent Calvary Baptist Academy!
