🇺🇸 Holiday Office Closure Notice 🇺🇸

In observance of Independence Day, the offices of Forest Park Funeral Home & Cemetery will be closed on Friday, July 3. We will reopen on Monday, July 6 with our normal business hours.

This time allows our dedicated staff the opportunity to celebrate the holiday and spend quality time with their families. We are grateful for their hard work and commitment to serving the families in our community throughout the year.

🌳✨ Big improvements are underway at Forest Park Cemetery West! ✨🌳

Our grounds crew has been hard at work removing trees and clearing overgrowth from around monuments throughout the cemetery. Over the years, some trees and vegetation have grown too close to memorials, making maintenance difficult and impacting their visibility.

By carefully removing this overgrowth, we are helping preserve the beauty of the monuments while improving the appearance and accessibility of the cemetery grounds. Every project completed helps restore the peaceful and respectful environment that families expect when visiting their loved ones.

Thank you to our dedicated crew for their continued hard work and commitment to maintaining the beauty of Forest Park West.

We are hiring for a **Grounds Crew position** at Forest Park East and Forest Park West!

This is a hands-on role that requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team. **This is not a mowing job.**

**Requirements:**

* Must be able to lift **80 pounds or more**
* Equipment knowledge is a plus
* Must know how to **back up a trailer**
* Must be able to **take direction and follow instructions**

Our hearts are heavy as we reflect on the tragic loss that has impacted eight innocent children and their families.

At Forest Park Cemetery, we believe it is our responsibility to stand beside our community not only in service, but in compassion. We are honored to provide burial spaces and vaults for these children, ensuring they are laid to rest with dignity, care, and respect.

This is not just about services—it is about supporting families during one of the most unimaginable times in their lives. We are keeping each family in our thoughts and prayers and remain committed to helping in any way we can.

In times like these, our community’s strength comes from coming together, uplifting one another, and showing kindness in the face of heartbreak.

LOCAL CEMETERY DONATES PLOT AND VAULTS FOR 8 CHILDREN WHO DIED IN THE APRIL 19TH MASS SHOOTING: Forest Park Cemetery is donating everything to the family (plots, vaults, and professional service fees). The April 19th Survivors Fund will not be used.
The children, members of the Elkins, Pugh, and Snow families of Shreveport's Cedar Grove neighborhood, will be buried in the cemetery's Legacy Garden following funeral services planned for May 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Summer Grove Baptist Church, 8924 Jewella Avenue in Shreveport.
