The FAM House is hosting a popsicle party for foster and adoptive families on Saturday, July 11th, and we want to give each child a lunch box full of breakfast & lunch snacks to kick-start their back-to-school prep. We'll be collecting lunch boxes for boys and girls of all ages and individually-packaged snacks between now and July 11th at both the FAM House and the BBC Welcome Desk. ❤️

*No peanuts or peanut butter, please.

Hey FAM supporters! Summer is officially here, and the FAM Closet needs swimsuits for boys and girls. We also need NEW socks and underwear, while you're shopping. You can drop off your donations at the FAM House on Mondays 10-2 and Wednesdays 4:30-6:30, or you can leave them at the Welcome Desk at BBC. Thanks for helping us get ready for some summer fun!

Are you interested in going one step further in serving our foster and adoptive families, by providing hands-on help when they need it most? The trained volunteers on our Respite team provide short-term childcare during court dates, training sessions, or ministry events. Sometimes, they give foster parents a break over the weekend, and when possible, provide emergency or last-minute care. Are you interested in supporting foster and adoptive families in our community through focused and intentional prayer? The volunteers on our Requests team faithfully lift up our families in prayer, as well as encouraging them through texts, cards, and emails to let them know that they are being covered in prayer. Our Resources volunteers help meet the tangible, everyday needs of foster and adoptive families. This might mean picking up groceries, running a quick errand, or providing school supplies. May is National Foster Care Awareness Month, dedicated to recognizing the roughly 365,000–391,000 children in US foster care and the families who support them.

At Broadmoor, our Foster and Adoption Ministry has established three volunteer teams to help support the families in our church who have opened their homes to foster and/or adopt: the Requests Team, the Resources Team, and the Respite Team. Local artist and Broadmoor Baptist Church member Yuina Todman and her talented team of students created a beautiful piece of art for the new visitation room at the FAM House. They stopped by yesterday for the big reveal, and to take a quick tour of the FAM House. We are so grateful for all of the creative ways that our local community supports the FAM Ministry!!

How encouraging is it to know that we can find rest and comfort even in uncertainty, confusion, and challenges, because we serve a Heavenly Father who is in control. We can trust Him.

Making your weekend grocery list? Consider adding a few things to help fill the FAM House snack shelves! We need all kinds of individually packaged snacks and juice boxes.

While you're shopping, we also need size 4 diapers, as well as summer clothes for boys sizes 8-10.

The FAM Closet is open every Monday from 10:00 until 2:00, and every Wednesday from 4:00 until 6:30. You can also drop things off at Broadmoor Baptist Church, Monday through Thursday - just let them know it's for the FAM House!
