Midweek Recap🗣️

Sunday’s sermon, Telling the Good News, reminded us that when God moves, His people should not stay silent.

In 2 Kings 6:24–7:16, God brought hope into a hopeless situation and provision into a place of desperation. And when the good news was discovered, it could not be kept hidden.
That is still true now.
We are surrounded by people who are hungry for hope, desperate for peace, and searching for something real. We have the good news. We know where hope is found. We know who saves.
May we never be content to sit on the good news while others are still waiting to hear it.

What is one truth from Sunday’s sermon that stayed with you this week?

What a blessing it has been to watch our church family give so generously toward the upcoming mission trip.

Thank you to every person who gave, supported, encouraged, and helped make this fundraiser a success. Your generosity will do more than help meet practical needs. It is already reflecting the heart of Christ in such a beautiful way. Giving is powerful because it blesses more than just the one receiving. Yes, generosity provides help, hope, and encouragement to others, but it also does something deeper in us. It softens our hearts. It loosens our grip on temporary things. It reminds us that we are part of something bigger than ourselves. Giving grows gratitude, strengthens faith, and fills us with joy that cannot be bought. There are hidden blessings in generosity. It draws us closer to God’s purpose. It teaches us trust. It helps us live with open hands and open hearts. And so often, the one doing the giving walks away blessed too.

Thank you, church family, for being willing to give so freely and cheerfully. Your kindness and generosity are making an impact far beyond what can be seen right now. We are so grateful for each of you.

If you missed the opportunity to attend the fundraiser you can still donate in the church office or on our website and app! Just choose the Casa de la Esperanza fund.

Each year, University has the honor of serving those who serve our community so faithfully.

Our First Responders Luncheon is coming up, and we would love for our church family to be part of this meaningful day of gratitude and service. Together, we will prepare, package, and serve hot meals for the men and women who protect, respond, rescue, and care for our community in times of need. Local first responders from the Shreveport Police Department, Shreveport Fire Department, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, and other area agencies are invited to stop by, pick up a freshly prepared meal to go, and be reminded that their hard work and sacrifice do not go unnoticed. This may seem like a simple meal, but simple acts of love can speak volumes. Every meal prepared, every bag packed, every smile shared, and every “thank you” offered is a chance to reflect the heart of Christ beyond the walls of our building.

Church family, we need your help to make this day special. Whether you can cook, package meals, greet our guests, or help behind the scenes, there is a place for you to serve.

And friends, please help us spread the word. If you know a local first responder, tag them, share this post, or personally invite them to stop by. We would be honored to serve them.

We are grateful for the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of our local first responders. It is our privilege to say thank you.
