Dolly’s legacy reaches far beyond music. Her Imagination Library inspired the creation of PJ Library, bringing Jewish books and stories to children and families around the world.

Cantor Lucy B. Fishbein sang Koli Ekra last Friday with music by Elana A***n. This quote comes from Psalm 27, which it is traditionally studied during the month of Elul. Its themes of yearning and spiritual introspection help us to ready our souls for the Days of Awe and the theme of teshuvah (return, repentance, and self-reflection) leading up to the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

Week 2 of our Elul journey: Looking Inward

Last week, the shofar awakened us to listen and notice what is already here. This week, we turn inward through cheshbon hanefesh—an accounting of the soul.

As you listen, consider: Where did you feel most aligned with your values this past year? What are you ready to carry forward—and what are you ready to release?
